Man Goes Missing During Hunting Trip

I know the Yohnnsons. Nice people is my impression from casual encounters with them (makes sense, unpleasent people usually aren't involved in work of this nature) . They have some very large german shepards at their place.

Man Goes Missing During Hunting Trip

I would turn them into the police, Guy. It may or may not be related but the police should have them in their evidence file.

    Re-Wilding North America

Bears were re-introduced in the pines. However, there is little information on how those re-introduced populations did. The current bear population is more likely the result of migration from the north. Coyotes were not introduced and look how well they are doing here now. I don't know...

    Mary Lee is visiting

I have had an interest and curiosity about that event for many many years now. I remember my dad telling me about it when I was young. I grew up not too far away from Matawan. When that book came out I met the author and he signed the book for me and we discussed it a bit. The book was very...

Anyone with Knowledge of Animal Tracks?

Hey! you know, the possibility of a coydog is there but unlikely. I have seen some very large yote tracks...and ultimately I use the absence of human tracks and a deliberate path and the remoteness of the area as a determination of whether it is likely a dog or yote. I have found that most of...

    Destruction at Friendship

I was there also and was quite taken back by the graffiti. I just can't imagine why someone would go through the trouble to do that to something that is so obviously of historical significance.

    Roadside Vernal Pool Scavenger Hunt

Great thanks. I was stuggling with your previous response to that question LOL this explains how water moves through the dense quartz dust. Are the bellybuttons created by water pressure?

    Roadside Vernal Pool Scavenger Hunt

Spung-man, a couple questions: 1) Am I correct to assume that the weathered quartz sand/dust created during periglacial times is less porus than quartz sand not subjected to cryogensis? is this soil unique to spung basins? 2) do you believe that aquifer degradation is the primary reason for...

    Roadside Vernal Pool Scavenger Hunt

I will concede that the definition provided (by Jason) would certainly apply to a wide range including vernal pools created by human disturbance or intent. However, as Spung-man eluded to, there is a far greater value to 10,000 + year old Pleistocene created spungs than basins created through...
