I talked to the township. It looks like the wind in blowing east and the fire is mostly contained. So I seem to be in pretty good shape. I hope the folks on sooy place are going to be okay. It is unsettling to have a fire of this size less than a 1/2 mile away.

Very nice Scott!! I don't come across perch too often and it is always a thrill when I do. I've caught some in bogs and even in the rivers.

I've seen pine snakes do the fake rattle. I think I recall a black rat snake doing a fake rattle once as well. It is amazing how well they pull this off. I came across a BIG rattler once that gave me a very loud rattle. I think my legs were already backing me up before my brain told them to.
