    Peggy Clevenger of Pasadena

I was always under the impression that the story of the boiling well, next to her demise, was the most popular tale concerning her. Beck places Bill Clevenger's death in 1872, yet Jerseyman, in typical fashion, has produced a document giving 1857 as the death date for Peggy. An inconsistancy...

Bodine Field to Wading Pines, A PBX Hike

Looks like I missed a real nice hike. That spring fed mill pond reminds me of the mt. Misery blue hole. The cool water of the wading must have felt great on such a warm day. Jeff

    Friday Failed Frog Find

Very nice photos, Guy. I got ticketed by the park police this week for not wearing my seatbelt. Anyway, here is a pic of a juvenile black rat I caught in my yard a year or two ago. (as there was discussion on the ID of snake seen at LTH house) Jeff

    Black's Stone Updated

Somehow I missed this post, Guy. Great find, and nice report. I remember a time a number of years ago when we visited the ruins at asterdaten and we stopped near Black's stone to search for others. I remember you had a lead on one but we couldn't locate it. I guess it has come to a (near)...

    Coyotes today

So i went back this evening. My intent was to set up a game camera but I brought along my camera/video as well. I kept low and quiet. Sure enough I came across a couple and started filming. Then the couple grew as more joined in. Eventually approx. ten coyote were about 20yards in front of me...

    Coyotes today

I was riding the motorcyle today on a very cool single track (enduro) trail in what appeared to be a former C.C.C. camp nursery. I was in pretty deep. well, I came around a turn and, low and behold, there was a young coyote. He ran about 25 yards and then turned and studyed me. I did the same...

THE BARRENS: NEW ALBUM RELEASE ANNOUCEMENT

I envy you that you and your brother spend such quality time together. I miss fishing with my brother, I wished he lived closer. Although, last time we were fishing he almost took my eye out with a spinner....Anyway, that is a nice pickerel. It is funny because pickerel almost always seem to...

    Black rat snake hibernacula

That is interesting because I tend to see black rats far more often than racers. I used to see a lot of racers when I was growing up in momouth county. The distance between Wall and Tabernacle could account for this. When I lived in momouth county it was in a farming district. We used to...

    Black rat snake hibernacula

To my surprise he was unexcited with the first two. But I've brought snakes I caught around the house to him before so he probably thought is was old news.:D When we came across the other three, and I carried him right up to them he did get excited and thought it was neat. Jeff

    Bitten by Tick?

I was bitten also just recently. Two days ago. I always have a reaction but I watch to see if it turns into a bullseye. The dog ticks can also be very small this time of year. I've been bitten by ticks hundreds of times and have never contracted lymes. Where as i have heard of people who...

    Black rat snake hibernacula

I was hiking with my son and stumbled upon a black rat snake hibernacula and/or summer den site. We surprised the first two and they surprised us. They both did the "tail in leaves rattle" which made me immeditely lift my son and retreat a couple yards. then I was able to quickly identify...

    Hey! Look what I found

That is good advice George. There is a possibility the rust has fused the unit together and might be impossible to take apart without damaging it. I will just move slowly and carfully and see what happens. I have those chemicals on hand and they might come in handy.
