XKE's were one of my all time favorites. I did the SCCA racing in the 60's and 70's with a MGB, I had two of them, Vineland and Watkins Glen. What fun, what memories.

Anyone watching Ken Burn's America's National Parks?

There is no question about Ken Burns being a liberal. All his work so far clearly displays that trait, especially the film on Baseball. I try to look past that because there is some good content, but he won't take the place of me watching the Eagles or Phillies.

Anyone watching Ken Burn's America's National Parks?

I've been able to watch some of the many hours on this series, between the Eagles and the Phillies. I know that they will repeat the series. Over the years, in traveling across this great country, I have been lucky enough to have visited most of the parks. Sometimes we take things for granted...

A Fine Time For Fine Wine

I use to make wine several years ago and now you just sparked my interest in resuming this wholesome activity. It is always wonderful to taste the fruits of your labor. I use to buy juice from Hammonton and Missa bay in Swedesboro, both are good. Thank you for reminding me and good luck with...

    75 years ago.....

That would have been so cool to have an original picture of it. There is a coin and stamp shop in Waretown that has a large picture of the MC and they won't sell it, but I keep trying.

    Canon Powershot

Card reader I find that the card reader is better than using the camera for the download. It is faster, no cable and you need not turn your camera on for the download. For under 10 bucks it is a good investment.

Fire Control Tower #23, Cape May, NJ

Thanks for the information. This site will be on my list of places to see. I remember, as a kid, the other towers in Wildwood also. I would live down there for the summer and we would go to these towers and play around. We didn't know or appreciate their value to this country. Thank you for sharing.

What was your first (Pine Barrens) car?

I knew him, always nice to us kids. I lived on Centre Street about 2 blocks from Blankenbush. My Dad had a real estate office in Merchantville and he would interface with your great-uncle. The business owners of that town would meet regularly to discuss ways on improving the business climate of...

What was your first (Pine Barrens) car?

I was raised in Merchantville. On days off from school, some official some not, we would go to Lebanon and play around. Our exploration wasn't formal but little by little we learned to appreciate the Pines. It was the perfect venue to learn how to drive a car without your parents or adult...

What was your first (Pine Barrens) car?

I learned how to drive in the pines, so did most of my childhood friends. We had a communal Jeepster. Pakin Pond was a favorite swimming hole and we would hang out in Deep Hollow and drink rot gut beer. No one ever got hurt and I don't know why. Today is different, Although I maintain a Jeep for...

    BAck TO NAture

You will find something of interest any time you go, especially being new to the trail. I personally like the fall after the tick season. As far as what to take will depend on your hiking ability, and how long or how many hours/days are you planning to spend on the trip. Always take water and a...
