burn I think that the Phragmites will grow back They have a deep and extensive root system. I have them on my shore property and I have attemted to dig them out but a small root will grow into several plants.

controlled burns That was an interesting article. NJ PBS showed the areas to be burned. I am glad that the Forest Service is doing this now to prevent problems in the future.
