Diluted dish soap will do a number on them, too! That is what I spray my tomato plants with when they get aphids.

A ID key that's available online doesn't identify them. There are so many species around. I have a big entomology key at work, I'll see if I can find it. It would be helpful to get a good shot of the wing of the mommy aphid, but that's kind of a tall order.

Whoa, AWESOME! That's a sundew, not sure which species. It's a carnivorous plant. I haven't seen one of those in person yet. I am jealous!

DDT is extremely persistent, but I seriously doubt it has any bearing on the tick populations. It is VERY toxic to fish and birds, and if it was within their reach from environmental spraying, these populations would be a lot different. DDT persists in the fat of animals (including humans)...

I'm going to have to give you the same little speech I have given here before. Pulling them out IS safe. Putting anything, including insect repellent, a hot match, vaseline or rubbing alcohol, on them, is most certainly the least safe way of doing it. Anything you put on them will increase...

Every time I go there, we come home wtih many bags of trash. It just gets trashed again. Too many people don't give a shit about anything or anyone other than themselves. It's sad.

I have a 60CSX and have done the float test with it. It sinks like a rock. I am not getting into a slappy fight with anyone over this matter, however. :mrgreen:
