    A county crew was stripping the surface off of the bridge over the Batsto this morning. I hope they blend it into the road better.

    That's the spot. The FFS spent allot of time reciently tearing up roads that weren't a problem while ignoring sections that are almost impassible. What did you think of their work at Hampton Furnace? They trashed it so bad that I don't go there anymore.

    Since the beginning of the week it had what seemed an orange bag hanging from it. It is not unusal for people to leave things there. Thursday morning campers were setting up and one was just staring at the pump, The next morning we were supprised to not see them there, so I guess it was broken...

    Here comes the hot weather

    We started our day hiking to the Mannis Duck Pond. Very nice, 1 box turtle, 2 lizzards, frogs a toad and a turkey. There are campers at Batona. Then we spent the day on the Mullica, it was great, summer is here!

    Kayaking upper Mullica and Batsto Rivers

    They have been repairing some roads reciently, Carranza, Hawkin Road and the one from Bordentown Gun Clup at 532 to the Skit Bridge before Batona Camp. They even trucked in fill dirt. I don't know how much more they are going to do. It does keep river traffic down. :)

    I saw a black one on a freezing overcast January morning back in 2009. I was way back behind the bogs at Friendship walking my two dogs when they suddenly got quiet and looked to our right. Something was moving with us as we walked a path no more than 50 feet away but it was too dense to ID it...
