    Tucker's Isle

I've always wanted to explore little beach and have been fascinated by it, but I heard you need a federal permit to get on it. Is that condition enforced, or is it generally accepeted that you can land there with small watercraft without a huge concern of federal prosecution? Jeff

    Forked River Mountain Cleanup

Sorry I didn't make it my friends. It seems these past few years something always prevents me from making it. Today was my wife's birthday. I only made the FRM clean up once. Looks like it was a great day for you all, and for the FRMs also. Jeff

Erosion from Garden State Parkway Tree cutting

Is there anybody who could read that paragraph and not realize how crazy it sounds.

    Meteor strikes in the Pines?

I hope ablackhole hasn't left us. I though his post was very interesting and well written. I have no reason to doubt that he didn't have that experience in '66. It sounds wild, but reasonable enough. I am just not convinced that there is a connection between what he witnessed in burlington...

    Exploring the lower Sleeper

Bob had mentioned the shoal branch to me also. It is funny because that day I was either going to explore the lower sleeper or the shoal. I had already picked out some spots on the shoal to check out. If you want to send me some coords to any islands you know of near pickerel spots that...

    Parkway tree cutting

Around '92 I seem to recall my father in law saying that he was north bound on the parkway and it was stopped because of a wild fire. He then said he saw it (the fire) "jump" the parkway to the other side and continue. Is this possible or am I remembering it wrong?

Hiked the Batona with Kaia :)

Very Nice, Karl!!! Terrific pics. With all the time I've spent in the woods and all the PBX hikes I've been on, I've never hiked the batona. Hey, what hammock is that and do you recommend it? I never used one for sleeping in. Warm? quick to set up? Thanks Jeff

    Attention NJ Forest Fire Service

LV, Clearly you saw this thread, it hit a nerve, and you came in with guns blazing. Maybe not thinking it through entirely in order to be effective in getting your point across. This is, of course, a publically accessable forum and anybody (within reason) can get on here. However, the core...

    Exploring the lower Sleeper

Al, it amazes me just how many places you've been to in the pines. Out of the way places. I come across these places that are so remote but it always seems like you've been there. It has gotten to the point that when I go somewhere I think to myself "no one has been here in a real long time...

    Exploring the lower Sleeper

No, no, no, I was a very good distance from both sleepy creek and the sawmill. I was on the Sleeper between the confluence with the mullica and the beaver pond. Jeff

    Exploring the lower Sleeper

Come on now Gabe, it's 2011! They haven't called it the Mechescatauxin in a long time. Yes, that is the approximate location. Have you been there?

    Exploring the lower Sleeper

Sunday I got into the woods to do some exploring around the lower sleeper, upstream from it's confluence with the Mullica. Most of this area is hidden from aerial photography due to a heavy cedar canopy. About 500ft from the nearest road I found this long abandoned hunting "shack"...

Nice report Guy, could the WS be a Sooy? Was this the bass river near route 72 near Penn, or down by absegami?

Washington Twp. cracks down on illegal ATV riders

Possibly, but that road has always been popular with wheelers. I spoke with an old piney once who told me he used to send wheelers down that road in the 70's just so his friend could make some $ pulling them out later LOL. Hopefully it doesn't become the new 1/4 mile. Jeff
