Hello - journalist looking for your craziest (or just best) Pine Barrens stories here!

Excellent article. It is refreshing to see an article that doesn't read like a tourist brouchure for a change. An adventure with some historical and geographical facts, and some cultural observations intergrated well within the text. Deep, Dark and Desolate...you bet, I wouldn't have them any...

    Missing Scout leader

After the PBX after hike party on Saturday I was driving home via sandy ridge road. About a mile north of Hawkin's bridge (a little before 10pm) I came upon about 10 jeeps going the oppisite way. they kindly pulled over to let me pass. As I passed the first he called out to me. I stopped...

    guess what and where?

I give up. I could only guess, as Bob did, that it is south of the A/c expressway or on private land. I know I've found some ruins south of the Expressway that I have never heard about before. Jeff

    Buzby's is up for sale.....

Yeah, she told me about it a month ago. She said she wasn't listing it yet so I didn't mention it. It will be a shame to see her leave her post at Buzby's. She said she is just ready to retire.

    Michael Huber Prairie Warbler Preserve.

It is pretty. Theoritically, you could probably put in at hampton lakes up on 70 to really make a trip out of it. It twists like a snake and gets pretty shallow at times. I seem to have a trip report around somewhere where I kayaked west of 206 on the sleeper, I'll see if I can find it. Jeff

Springtime On The Tulpehocken, A PBX Hike

Gee, it sounds a little wimpy when you put it that way. Clearly there was a misunderstanding, I twisted my leg while saving new born puppies from an apartment fire that broke out WHILE I was assembling a grill. Yeah, that's it. This spot does look ripe for pickerel. I'll hit it and report...

Very nice, Ed. I've been noticing a lot of sheep laurel about, and the mountain laurel on my property (I have a lot of them)is in full bloom.

    Tree Frog at Friendship Bogs

Really great shots, Guy!! when I was out yesterday in the parkdale area the mosquitos where crazy bad. Fortunitely, my sister and I both have this strange condition where most insect bites have little effect on us. I must have been bit 25 or more times and 5 minutes later...no skin reaction...

    Michael Huber Prairie Warbler Preserve.

Hey Al, i've spent some time in there. It is a great piece of woods. It used to be the four mile spring preserve, and if my memory is accurate, it was originally land that a gun club bought up to preserve from developement. I think they managed to raise funds from charity efforts. I guess...

    May Arethusa

Nice report and great spot you found there. I was out fishing yesterday on the sleeper and mullica and in both locations I found a flower that resembled the arethusa but was a bit more blue in color. It was also growning right next to arrow arum. I didn't have my camera. Any ideas? Maybe...
