It is pretty. Theoritically, you could probably put in at hampton lakes up on 70 to really make a trip out of it. It twists like a snake and gets pretty shallow at times. I seem to have a trip report around somewhere where I kayaked west of 206 on the sleeper, I'll see if I can find it. Jeff

Very nice, Ed. I've been noticing a lot of sheep laurel about, and the mountain laurel on my property (I have a lot of them)is in full bloom.

After seeing a photo online, I think i'd have to go with blue flag iris. definitely not pickerel weed, I know that one.

Really great shots, Guy!! when I was out yesterday in the parkdale area the mosquitos where crazy bad. Fortunitely, my sister and I both have this strange condition where most insect bites have little effect on us. I must have been bit 25 or more times and 5 minutes later...no skin reaction...

Hey Al, i've spent some time in there. It is a great piece of woods. It used to be the four mile spring preserve, and if my memory is accurate, it was originally land that a gun club bought up to preserve from developement. I think they managed to raise funds from charity efforts. I guess...

Nice report and great spot you found there. I was out fishing yesterday on the sleeper and mullica and in both locations I found a flower that resembled the arethusa but was a bit more blue in color. It was also growning right next to arrow arum. I didn't have my camera. Any ideas? Maybe...
