    The NEW Beer Thread

Any Tips for Removing Pine Sap from a Vehicle's Finish?

That is what I have done. When it builds up on my truck, I clean it off the glass and the paint with a razor blade. I do not think I would use this practice on a vehicle with a finish I was concerned about. I have also used WD-40, a plastic spatula as a scraper, and a couple of rags to remove...

    16th Annual Barnegat Bay Festival-June 2, 2013

My friend and I clammed Barnegat Bay this past Saturday and did very well. We raked 300 clams between the two of us. We fed them to about 30 people that night at a party. Grilled, deep fried, and raw. We also had a clam feast on Sunday. All is fine.

    What is this area

Ben, I am not sure if the FRMC built the trail. The trail has been around awhile. I am pretty sure the benches are a Eagle Scout project that was done for the FRMC. Bob will know way more about it than I do.

    Pollen in Bamber

Same conditions here in Pinewald, Bob. The last two days have been brutal! One year I went to work and left the windows up for the day on the first day it was bad that Spring. When I came home everything in the house was covered with pine pollen. That was the first year I lived in my house. I...

    Canoe Cedar Creek

Yes it is! My favorite little river in the pines. I know it is one of the cleanest water ways in the pines, but it also has to be one of the clearest also. The clarity is unreal somedays! Like you say Al, 8 foot deep and you can see clear to the bottom on the right day! I have spent much time in...

Annual Forked River Mountain Cleanup--Sunday, 21 April

We couldn't have asked for better weather for the clean up this year! My crew and I removed two full front end loader buckets of concrete, and one loader bucket full of assorted trash. My crew hard at work. Bucket #2. Chris

Hawkin Swamp Part 2, A PBX Hike

It was another great day exploring the Manakawkin Swamp. At the start of the week it looked like this hike was going to be rained out for the planned day. The forecast changed, and it turned out to be a fine day for exploring in the largest section of unbroke maritime forest in South Jersey. It...

    Red Flag Warning

I remember the weather at the time of the big fire in Greenwood April of 1995. It was just as it is now, Windy and colder than it should be for the first week of April.

    'Hawkin Swamp, a PBX Hike.

No sign of the Mill. We think the wheel may have been dumped there at one point in time. I checked the location when I got home. It's about .30 miles from the nearst road of any kind. It was in a location you would not think anybody would put a Mill. No power source. No, we didn't. I would...

    'Hawkin Swamp, a PBX Hike.

All, At the beginning of March Bob sent an email to all of the members of PBX to let them know that him and I were working on a hike in a maritime forest of NJ. Our plan was to tackle the 'Hawkin Swamp from the north and hike to the southern end. The date was set for March 27th. PBX members...

    Insect nest?

If it came on nursery stock from out of state you may just want to pick and destroy.

    Insect nest?

Don't open it, it will be more or less green goop inside of it at this time. If you can, keep it around and keep an eye on it to see what emerges from it. I have a large cocoon I found on a landscape the other day. I clipped the branch with the cocoon attatched. I have it on the dash of my work...

    Overkill for the Pines

Wow! Now that's a beach buggy! Well stocked! I love the organization, everything has its place. I have a softspot for cabover design 4x4 trucks. A Jeep concept I hope that hits the production line.
