It would be devastating to see the great city in the plains burned up, thanks. Local we may not know much about fire management but likewise you know very little about ecology of the pines. I guess we can learn from eachother.

Nothing better then getting blasted by sun in the pines and sweating, then driving home with the windows down while the sun/temps drop each minute and the smell of fresh pine forest permeating the car...something I'll never tire of.....but yes belleplain and the south portions are better for...

Believe it or not there was some jack ass breeding 'no eyed' red eared sliders for the pet trade a few years back. Fortunately he was busted by the fed. Al I'm not sure how they find food, but I think for land turtles its more eyesight, water turtles may be different.

Barred owl in Hfield, wow. I've lived here my whole life and never heard a single owl. Wonder if this was close to the cooper river.

I think they use the sand for fracking. I thought the sand we had here wasn't the right kind, but if it is.... This spot is actually not the spot I was thinking of, this area is already a pretty active mine. I still don't know where the undeveloped tracks are and I don't like the sounds of that.

Gas prices are going up because of traders bidding prices up in the market, totally artificial. Media is throwing fuel on the fire by constantly talking about 5 per gallon and nonsense in the middle easst. Everything is inflating again just like last year, including commodities, equities, etc...

I think some people become over preoccupied with the ecological value of a standing pine tree in the barrens. Thinning of some tracks of land will do the ecosystem lots of good especially with the abscence of fire. Pine trees grow back quick. I think the pine beetles will eventually balance out...

Not totally a comment related to this exact incident as I don't know anything about plants and what is right or wrong for them. This is a comment on protecting the woods. What you all see here is something I've had to endure for years with reptiles and ampibians. People constantly poaching...

think the red tailed in those pictures (a few in) is actually a northern harrier.
