    Carranza ruins

I went back today to try and get better pictures. Anchor bolt detail, there are 10 of them, 4 on one side and 6 on the other side of the trench. They are .75 inch in diameter. http://forums.njpinebarrens.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=406&pos=0 The few bricks that are present are...

    Carranza ruins

Since the forrest fire service was doing alot of recutting of fire breaks and burning (no ticks) in the Carranza area, I have been exploring places I have been walking past for decades. Behind the Carranza Monument right off the Batona trail I found an extensive ruin. There is a cellar hole...

Kayaked the Sleeper west of 206

Nice trip, I've been trying to figure out how to approach that river for some time. It keeps poping up and dissapearing. Where did you put in? Ed

    bear tracks

I remember it was over my head, it was way to high for a deer to scratch. It was in the area where we found all those clothes. Also I think it was a cedar tree. Ed

Cot tents look interesting, I've seen them at Hawkin camp ground. Trouble is they don't break down small enough. http://www.tailgatershade.com/cot-tents.htm Ed

    Unbridge

Your photo shows only half of the bridge. That land on the other side is an island. I paddeled the other side of that island at high water. There are poles there too. Ed

The west side of Tulpehocken at Friendship

That thought is upsetting. I was able to use my Garmin track file to calculate the area of the high ground that we pretty much circled. The area of our track encompassed 32.1 acres. Stu, your guess of 30 was really close.

The west side of Tulpehocken at Friendship

Yesterday I met Onehand at http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?z=18&n=4398358&e=533697&s=50&size=l&u=5&datum=nad83&layer=DRG25 to explore a swamp locked piece of land. The high ground in the center of this picture is bounded to the east by the Tulpehocken River and Friendship Bogs...

    Quaker Bridge Road

I found a similar emblem on the east side of Quake Bridge early Saturday morning, but mine said "COTTSDALE 20". The S was missing, I left it there. Ed

    Watermarks

What software do you use for marking your pictures? I am at the end of my free trial of RealWatermark and was wondering if there is any others I might want to consider before buying it. http://www.reasoft.com/products/reawatermark/ Ed

    Purchase A & B Stone, and a Canal

Guy, that was a great trip. That's one area you can go to and find something noone has seen in a looooong time. I never did stop to explore, so I didn't know about the canal. I think Steve said he'd like to paddle that. We'll have to explore out that way while the weather is still cool and after...

    Turtles in January

On that beautiful, warm Thursday I just couldn't sit still so I decided to paddle Oswego Lake. What a great day. I was exploring way in the back shallows when a turtle swam by me about 6 inches under the water. It looked very happy and didn't notice me and was very clean. Later on exploring...

    Going Camera Crazy

What are you going to use that for Ed? Guy Wildlife photography. I have been scouting out the bogs and am waiting for the end of January when the hunting season winds down. Meanwhile I have been practicing around my home, seeing deer, squirels and birds. I am particulary interested in...

    Going Camera Crazy

I had the same problem with the game camera I just got (Stealth Cam). The software that came with it couldn't find the pictures. I exited the app and just then Adobe Photo Shop poped up. It effortlessly downloaded the pictures and let me delete them from the camera. It's free!!! Ed

    Sawmills

A drive isn't hunting! There was a drive out here in Shamong in the late 1990"s which stired up alot of deer and caused an accident on 206. Pathetic lack of talent.
