The "Bog Slog", a PBX Hike

Another fun and satisfying PBX hike with a great bunch of guys!! Here are a few shots. Tough going at times? you bet! here is what was in front of us most of the time. water filled canals were often the path of least resistance. Here is Tom taking advantage of a clear passage...

    Sea Breeze/Delware Bay, NJ

Wow. I hope if I ever find my self in a similar situation it doesn't end up on the news:mrgreen: Actually I had an inncident in the great swamp a few years back, but it was not that intense. And like 46er noted, there was no incoming tide to worry about. I was careful to have resources about...

    Winzinger Update

I know that area and pit very well. There is some nice uplands woods in there, very wild and thick behind the pit. I used to assume it was part of Greenwood WMA. Fair is fair but I sure wish it ended up as part of Greenwood. Jeff

    what is this from

I used to find shark teeth all the time when I was a park ranger in Monmouth county. There were tons in this one section of a small neglected stream. I will find some of them and compare and report back soon. I'm pretty sure that is what it is (if not the Jersey Devil) Jeff

    Spikes in the ground (lacey)

I would like to believe that the individual or individuals setting these traps are not likely to lurk on this site. However, you might want to consider asking Ben to delete this thread so as not to warn these people that they are being watched (in the event they are reading this). If it is on...

    Spikes in the ground (lacey)

Thanks for bringing this to our attention Mudboy. This kind of thing has happened before (in other locations) and has been discussed on the forum. Enviromental extremists have been suspected in the past. Hope you guys catch the SOB or SOB's.

    Bobcat tracks

Yeah I've noticed this also, and I have had bait taken with no shots. However, in the great swamp, the bait was never touched. Jeff

New Jersey State Program Helps OHV’ers Gain Access to Land

Remember that ORV people are not really one massive organized group. It is better to think of them as individuals. You most certainly don't have to sympathize with someone who rides around in vernal pools with 44" tires. But you might find it easier to understand someone who likes to ride on...

    Bobcat tracks

I have placed a stealth cam in the great swamp three or four times. Baited with everthing from chicken left overs to ham. The locations were remote. I even placed one near a watering hole with coyote tracks around it. Nothing. Jeff
