    Chatsworth North....A PBX Hike

Nice report Guy! Looks like you guys had a great trip. Sorry I couldn't be there. Guy, that one photo ("darker than it was") is a fantastic shot. You can tell from the location of that tract that it is just full of piney history, much of which has never been documented I'm sure. Quick...

    An interesting thing happened tonight

I think there has been some confusion on one of the facts. I did not get out of my truck.

    Another canal discovered.

It is a great feeling to stumble across that kind of thing isn't it Trailhead00? There are layers and layers of human history all over the pinebarrens. Jeff

    Old foundation near Batsto

I like the 20MPH speed limit on sand roads. Ummm, I might have broken that one once or twice to 4,500 times. Jeff

    So I'm in a documentary

We met at Bass river SF but it was a little too loud there, so I took them up 679 toward Harrisville and pulled off into the woods till the sound of cars were distant. Did it ever upload for you? It was real slow for me and my computer is fast.

    So I'm in a documentary

    An interesting thing happened tonight

Thanks for your responses. I didn't exit the truck and I definitely wasn't going to hang around for the other 25 to show up. I think the guy I spoke with probably wanted the others to meet me to reassure them I wasn't going to call the troops out. Whatever the reason, it wasn't a situation...

    An interesting thing happened tonight

I was taking a night time drive through the burnt area near Atsion. Afterward, I crossed 206 and headed into the great swamp area on one of the lesser used roads. About a mile in I came across a large bon fire and a bunch of trucks hauling a$$ away from me. So I pulled up and realized that no...

Many agree on need to thin pinelands, but disagree on whether to use fire or ax

I would agree that the general public does. I get the impression that those interested in the ecology of the pine barrens find it's fire related history interesting and don't take it for granted as much.

Yeah, I would probably blame the developers also. Just because.

    Get out and vote!!!

I agree. I'd rather have fewer informed voters than multitudes of people voting who really don't care. When I was a business economics major back in college I felt there should be proficiency tests as a requirement for voting privileges. I have since changed my opinion on that matter...

Many agree on need to thin pinelands, but disagree on whether to use fire or ax

I don't know, this can be devestating to people. Sometimes buffers and fire resistant material won't protect you and fire insurance can't cover the setimental value of many household items. My last house and the house i'm in now are both within dangerous areas in the case of a forest fire. I...
