    Puddles

You are absolutely right. That arm pump is no fun and if your in a long stretch of whoops and your arms start to go....trouble. Sometimes the whoops go on for miles. If I'm doing a long stretch and just leisurly riding I have found that the whoops can be pretty fun at a slow speed and...

    Puddles

Andy, I've done that road many times with my bronco. I have done it in flood conditions as well. This puddle you are talking about...I think I know the one. It is over flowing into the woods? The go arounds are fairly new? It does get pretty deep but I had no trouble on any puddles on that...

    Beware of Beaver

Good advice. I've seen rabid racoons before. I used to be a park ranger (summer job) at a county park and we had rabid racoon. it was out in a field, foaming at the mouth, and it attacked our pick up truck as we pulled up to it. We had an insanly rabid ground hog too. Have you seen any...

    Beware of Beaver

I've had alot of beaver encounters and in my experience they have never had an aggresive disposition. I believe the tail slapping thing is more of a warning for other beavers. I think the rabbies is solely to blame for this particular beaver's violent behavior. Jeff

    Pine Barren Glory Days

These recollections are great! Keep them comming. Nice new hog you got there Scott!! As for the cr480....monster. I used race motocross on 125's and 250's. But those open classers were insane. I took a cr500 (it was an '86) out once, sick, sick power. They say if an open classer doesn't...

    State preserves S. Harrison forest

Thanks Dragoncjo, but I don't get down that far too often, probably not for 100 acres anyway. It is a good thing though.

    Knockin' Around

Yes, Guy, we are referring to the same grove. There is a sign in there. I believe it says the trees are a hybrid between yellow pine and pitch pine and that it was planted in 1960 but I could be a little off on those details. There is another huge grove in the woods at the north west corner...

    Boy's Orphanage/Naegeli Rd.

I've been in there. I don't think it was an orphanage. It was a retreat center (religious or scouts or something) I read about it somewhere after I came across it. Anyway, it is creepy, it has been vandalized heavily and I guess set ablaze since I was there. You could still find old record...

    Knockin' Around

I bet I know one you are thinking of Guy...the one along the RR between upton and Buckingham, right near Van Note Camp? I recall there is a sign in there about the origins of that grove. Jeff
