    Knockin' Around

It is frustrating when people have that attitute (as your neighbor did, Largo) Sadly it seems like too many people have that same attitude. Take comfort that there are like minded individuals out there though (like the people on this forum). Bob, wow! Good for you! I think I recall you...

    The Sleeper; a kayaking adventure

BTW. shy of a shotgun shell casing, there was no garbage on the river that I can recall.

    Wet Day at Colliers Mills

Very nice! Seems like an extrodinary number of blow downs, and that cedar looks like God himself twisted apart. The lost lake looks a bit like a spong in the photos. Does it appear to have any inflow and out flow, perhaps from the unnammed brook? shallow? Jeff

    The Sleeper; a kayaking adventure

Probably right around wescoat. Channels inhibit the flow and there are tons of blow downs. I have heard other stories about misadventures on the sleeper, and the great swamp in general. Jeff

    The Sleeper; a kayaking adventure

Thanks! It is my favorite as well. I got lucky with my perspective on this one. I took 39 photos on this trip. My theory is that sheer numbers should produce a few good shots. Jeff

    The Sleeper; a kayaking adventure

A bit tricky, yeah. However, with a bit of momentem, the smaller dams wern't too bad and could be done without getting out of the kayak. Some required a bit more work.

    Puddles

That was good of you to pull that ladder out. When people get stuck and leave stuff of that nature in the mud hole it can cause problems for someone else going through the mud hole. Or be very dangerous for a motorcyclist. Jeff

From Sawmills to Union Clay Works

That wooden saw mill is a real good find Guy! That area is a cedar hot bed so I am not surprised by so many mills. I am sure there are many more. Did you notice that mound on the right, on the road to the last mill? Did you see anything there? Jeff

one of my photos didn't link. Here it is. One of the many islands on the Sleeper Bob, what do you think? Indian grass, Long sedge? Jeff

    The Sleeper; a kayaking adventure

For some time Gabe (pinelandpaddler) and myself had been discussing a kayak exploration on a portion of the Sleeper branch that neither of us had kayaked in the past. The Sleeper has interested both of us for sometime. It remains today as one of the most remote watersheds in the barrens. We...

Nice report Ben. I rarely get into that area and it is a pleasure to read a report on an area I am unfamilar with. Jeff

Great post Guy. Glad you found those two mills. One to go. This fellow you hooked up with...very cool to look around red oak grove with someone who has a history there! I saw the movie "saw" so I get the last picture on the saw mill:mrgreen: Jeff

Is it one of the other pits near old halfway but north west?

    Intro

The great swamp has a bunch of islands. So to speak. If you are referring to one in the sleeper then you are talking about a true island and that is very cool and not likely to become home to hunters. However, there are alot of cedar "islands" within the savannas out there that are very...

    Mouth of the Mullica

Yes, Yes Gabe it was. During my undergrad years at Stockton I had many different, and sometimes comical experiences centered around these two bodies of water. But I don't want to get off topic from the thread. Jeff
