Makepeace Lake water levels and a question

Hi..Makepeace Lake is man made as are all of the lakes here in South Jersey. I believe it was once or maybe still is used as a resevoir for the blueberry farmers. Maybe about 10-12 years ago, give or take (I have never been good about time) the earthen dam washed out with the help of vandals...

I still am shaking my head at what i saw today!

can't remeber which road we were on, but somewhere in the vicinity of APH. We were taking in the sights and spotted a very large hole, big enough for me to crawl into, in the side of a high spot on the edge of the woods. In front of the hole was a pile of deer bones. We thought about...

    Grey "Cabana" Tree Frog

Yesterday while helping to set up a family get together at my Mom's, we moved a couple of stack chairs in the pool yard. Found this little guy resting on the chair back. Apparently they like the pool yard. There are three of them that show up regularly. Turned him loose in the rhodendrens.

Things have been a little slow on the beach. The last couple of visits though have been a treat to the eyes. From the road the area looks to be a stretch of weeds, but get close and there is blooming everywhere. Blue Curls, a couple of Golden Rods, Bonesets, Asters and Sunflowers. A very tine...

I was wondering what those very strange things were hitting my wind shield on my way home from work. Then I remembered....RAIN!!! Power stayed on but the winds were whipping things around pretty good about 7:30, along with a pretty heavy down pour. Was still raining at 11:30. Curious to see...

    Blending in

Haven't seen a single mantis all summer. We usually have a couple out in the yard. I did find one of their cousins on the front of the house the other morning. I remember years ago Praying Mantis were on the endangered list...are they still? Does any one know anything about "walking sticks"?

Hurricane Earl Belmar/Deal and other photographs from my long summer

great shots....thanks for the links. Your shots from the Shennandoha brought back some memories. On our hike to the falls, a father and young son were trout fishing. A doe was bedded down under the brush. Then my husband spotted a black bear cub....a second later it and it's Mom hightailed...
