    An Education On Quail

Good read. They also have the quail project going now to get wild numbers up. Theres only two WMAs in NJ that stock quail and allow hunting, and with one being just down the dirt road from me, I cant help but take advantage during bird season. The dog loves it. I understand your thoughts...

Time For Wining in The Pines !

Think I'll hit Gino's up this year. Our crew never got around to making wine again this year.. first time in years no one showed an interest. I still have about 100 bottles to bottle tho.

Time For Wining in The Pines !

I went to school in Kutztown and loved the wineries in the area. Pinnacle used to carry a sweet Niagra too.. that along w the Concord would do me in on a Fri or Sat night. Both are sweet and strong.

    Question on Freshwater Fishing

Freshwater bass in the spring was pretty good. Pickerel seem to always be biting in the pines. My trout season was a wash-out in the rivers in NW Jerz and upstate NY due to all the storms. Bass also wasn't at its best during the summer months, but Im sure some people may have got lucky. We...

    Propane costs?

When I moved from Brick to Bamber Lake, we went from gas to propane. First thing I did to the house was take out the propane fireplace (still have forced hot air from propane) and put in a wood stove. I scavenge wood and never pay for it and burn 24/7 from from mid october to around April (4-5...

Apple Pie Hill Tower Smashed Again

Stopped by APH yesterday and for the second time in a few weeks, I was happy to see it was pretty darn clean. Of course the broken glass is still there, but the area has been a lot cleaner than Im used to seeing it. :D

    Music for the day

One of my all time favorite bands is The Black Crowes. They recorded an album at Levon Helm's place (from "The Band") up in the Catskills a winter ago. Here's two great tracks and a chance to hear both brothers sing. The first is a great Velvet Underground cover with a nice guitar solo...

    The NEW Beer Thread

My favorite beers are stouts and porters, but they're hard to get down in the summer heat. I especially like IPAs and wheat beers this time of year. Lucky for me Im heading to San Fran then San Diego in 2 weeks. You can bet your arse Im hitting the Lagunitas Brewery, it being only 50 min from...

Overnight River Trips in the Pines?

Some campgrounds mentioned in the above posts are closed for maintenance. Be sure to check in with Batsto to see which are open, you'll need the permits anyway. I wouldn't want you to make plans and then have to start over.
