Well hey Joe Rogan's p.o.v. is certainly convenient,I'll give him that. Not saying he's wrong....Must be the limosine?......Sounds like he at least settled on a theory that lets him sleep tight!

Yeah and I'll add to that, more specifically perhaps- habitat degradation.Too much of the general public seem have the misconception that all 'greenspace' is one and the same.

    Beer (again)

Ha ha yeah those are great commercials right? I strongly recomend their(Dos Equis) 'especial' brew(green bottle). Definitely the first to admit I'm a 'beer snob'...... Unlike you bobpbx, most of the folks I was referring to seem uninterested/unaware of all the less-advertised quality products...

    Beer (again)

While we're on the subject am i the only one that finds it mind boggling how many people just accept the mass produced cheap stuff-swear by it even-despite it's oviously being inferior taste/quality?I started noticing an improvement in the stores as far as a variety of quality brews available a...

    Friendship

Many times I've thought/said how surprising it is that such places are not more carefully preserved and marked by the state as historic sites or something to that effect..................Being a native Washingtonian(DC) and seeing how everything 'historic' down there is signed as such, all the...

Not sure if this is 'appropriate', but......

Since it is the 'giving season' and what have you,I thought I'd ask for suggestions of any enviroment-friendly organizations(preferably non-profit) that place local habitat preservation/conservation as their main purpose.I especially like those that have apparel and other gifts that bear their...

    Ouch!!!

may be close to a much worse scene i happened by this summer-a lemon yellow hummer upside down, having rolled 3 times...three bodies were strewn about the road-a girl, her friend, and her dad........they said something about dad letting his girl drive, she freaked out and hit the gas when she meant...

    Guess the location

I can tell from the pic that they planted those trees waaaaaay too close together(that is,if they were simply trying to restore habitat)..........That's not meant in any way to diminish/criticize what I'd call a very admirable deed but it's basically reminiscent of your omnipresent monocultural...

I had heard the DEP did this in the early 80's but I was skeptical. August 4th 1981

that 2002 'habitat quality' map looks about like what i'd expect it to; but that '95 thru '09 range map is impressive, even surprising.that's some seriously rapid expansion!

    Southern Pine Bark Beetle

i was gonna say the emerald ash borer beetle is another possible culprit (apparently they will target many other tree species, not just ash) but they leave distinctive signs that i didn't see on those roadside oaks but i admit i wasn't closely inspecting them for insects **edit:sorry-false...
