Did the recent fire have you looking there? You could see the Philly skyline from there years ago.

In 1999, I believe, we had a very dry summer and that whole area burnt in the Rockwood Road Fire. It burnt very hot and fast. Rockwood road was completely dry that year as well.

Well, now I know where the kids and I are going to visit this weekend. We explored further down Rockwood road a couple weeks ago. We went right on by and explored further down Rockwood road. I don’t even think of going there then. Thanks for the idea.

Yes, we were there around noon. They ran two passes and saved the one piece of white cedar that resulted. I was watching from the exact vantage point that you took that picture from. In your pic you can see all new wood that they replaced to be able to open that door.

The sawmill cut its first board in years. They spent weeks getting it ready for Sunday. They even made a new babbitt bearing.

It was great to see you guys out there. We made a brief stop at Hampton. The water is so low the wood remains under the bridge are now exposed. We were running short on time so we didn’t stick around but plan to go back and explore a little more. This is looking straight down from the bridge.

It was really putting up yesterday.

There was a small fire in town on 4th street. She could have smelled that one.

I believe that one was contained, but it’s in the same direction. Could be the same one.

Update: After picking up my son we decided to investigate. There’s clearly 2 separate fires. One looks like it’s towards Friendship and another much further away possibly Fort Dix area.

Just got to Hammonton High School to pick up my son. There’s a decent column of smoke in the direction of Atsion. After he gets out we may investigate

By the Links golf course in Kings Grant. Fairway 10 they said. Approx 2 acres was yesterdays fire.

My daughter got her first car. It didn’t have the front bracket. She really didn’t want to put it on. I warned her she might get pulled over. Within a month she got pulled over for it. That night she ordered the bracket

I fear I might be busy in 80,000 years so we decided to try and see the comet.

10/16/24 @ 1100 hrs- Section B6 ‘Maryann Forge Wildfire’, Pemberton Twp, Burlington County- NJFFS crews working a multi-acre fire north of Presidential Lakes. ICP reports the fire is currently 20 acres. No structures are threatened. There are no road closures. Updated @ 1345 hrs.

FYI…

My son called me to come pick him up. When I walked out the door (which faces west) I saw a pink sky but no clouds. When I looked north the sky was completely red. I didn’t even know there was a chance for the northern lights that day.

It’s not the first time a large tree was dropped across that entrance. My blood boils every time I think about that situation. I was down Rockwood Road yesterday. It was completely dry and I easily made it to West Mill Road. The sand is very soft and deep though.

I just watched the news. There’s no real rain for the next 10 days too
