    Something caught on camera?

Maybe someone fairly close to the cameraman filled one of those long kids' balloons and then let it fly.

    KKK in the pines?

Agreed, and the linguistic gyrations employed to impart some sense of North-South division to the state during the Civil War are perhaps even funnier. There were sympathies of every variety in various places at the time, of course, but New Jersey was and is the North.

    Jemima Mount

    I want a T-shirt that says "I climbed Willy's Hill (and Willy Didn't Mind)"

    Have I missed something?

Very childish and petty behavior. I'd remove the user and physically delete the posts, to clean the board up. I guess this is one good argument in favor of limiting the editing time on messages.

Oswego Lake to Sim Place ... 2009

What an epic trip, and great pictures from everyone. You guys are hard core, for sure. /respect. James, I think you're right. I looked into this once a long time ago, but I don't remember the precise legal points. I believe that any flowing watercourse that is not wholly contained on private...

Some Thoughts on Egg Harbour and Peace by John Fanning Watson

Very interesting, and almost childlike in its plaintive tone (not to mention diction and syntax) toward the end. I have not heard previously that explanation for the Norse name 'Vinland' as applied to North America.

Aerial images online endanger national security, critics say

I think they're right: hi-res aerial imagery definitely compromises security. But they're not getting that genie back in the bottle. I don't care how many rules they make.

Oh man... I... well... that is... I am pro-beaver. I am not a fish lover, but thumbs up on the beavers.

    Problem with Quick Links?

Games are some of the most problematic pieces of software for Vista, because they often don't play well with the greater restrictions on access to resources in the system. After installation the game will typically have placed a shortcut on the desktop. Right click the shortcut and click...

    Problem with Quick Links?

I'm not a huge Vista fan, but it's ok. As a developer I know that they had to address some key issues with XP, and that change was very likely to be breaking in at least some respects (which it has been). I find Vista very usable and stable, albeit with some frustrating glitches remaining. I'm...

    WW I Ammo packing building?

I'm guessing Belcoville, too. Is there any memorial or plaque at Amatol? I don't remember seeing any signs that the site was marked or cared for when I explored it.

? About Difference in NJ Stones

We used to get the best barbeque in Lawnside back in the day, from those shacks right along Evesham, I think. Somebody told me they're all gone, now, but I haven't been down there in 20 years. Not exactly Pine Barrens lore, but tasty for sure!

A Great Day In The Pines

Excellent stuff, Guy. You're getting pretty sharp with that camera, I'd say. I really enjoyed the plant shots, and the tiger beetle, not to mention the enterprising beavers that got themselves a pond on the cheap at Black's Bridge.

    Jersey Devil

Haha, that is excellent, Jerseyman, and it sounds like the sort of thing Franklin would have written in one of his impish moods.
