    Columbia Road

Columbia road, that starts in Nesco, is probably a pretty familar route for many of us as it winds through the edge Hammonton WMA toward route 30. However, once you cross route 30 columbia road continues, in dirt, all the way to the A/C Expressway along the eastern edge of Makepeace lake WMA...

    Development in Mt Misery??

Hey Guy, I used to frequently pass through that area when I lived out that way. I never noticed the symmetry of the "trails" as you have noticed on the aerial photos but I remember thinking the area was atypical and disturbed. On your next trip out there look for something out of the ordinary...

Guy, I am surprised that you described Nesco as "slightly out of the pines" Nesco is about as in the pinebarrens as a town gets.

    Redfin Pickerel Do Not Exist!!!

redfins eat worms, yeah, but they would prefer a fish. the thing is, the sunfish and catfish love worms so by not using worms you decrease your chances of catching a sunfish or catfish instead of a redfin. The smaller redfins will reside in the same proximity of the sunfish. The larger ones...

    Kayaking at the Blue Hole

Wow, that is pretty cool. When I went there about 10 years ago I remember being surprised thinking it didn't look deep at all. I remember seeing the bottom. maybe it was a trick of the light.

    Redfin Pickerel Do Not Exist!!!

http://forums.njpinebarrens.com/posts/69009/ photos #7,8,9 show me holding a very small redfin. Can't really make it out so great in the photos though. Jeff

    Redfin Pickerel Do Not Exist!!!

Cool photo, Bob. HK, I appreciate your ambition. Catching a redfin on rod and reel is going to be difficult. I'll help you out as best I can. I never targeted redfin specifically, but if I did, I'd do this... I'd get away from where the chainsides are, go to a bog with a sandy, shallow...

    Redfin Pickerel Do Not Exist!!!

They are there HK. If you really want to catch one and don't care about the size and method, use a seine in the bog and you are likely to pick up a little one. By little we are talking 3" or 4". Jeff

    Linear mounds in Stafford WMA

Yes, that is the correct one. I approach it on the motorcycle from the south on trails not suitable for car or truck. I recall you can access it from an access road along the parkway, but it is pretty muddy most of the time. Jeff

    Linear mounds in Stafford WMA

This area in question is my favorite "pit" in the pines. the western most area is a large bowl like pit on top of a mountain (well, you know). when you ride to the top of the sides you are welcomed by a beautiful vista. I have many photos of this area but I still haven't been able to get...

    Corn snake

I would add that a juvenile black rat snake and possibly even a juvenile rattler could look similar.
