So far, we haven't found any chiggers yet, but it's still cool out. I did get a tick bite but I think the culprit was one of my research subjects. The ecology of this area is similar to the pines--acid swamps, sandy soil and peat bogs, so I totally expect that to happen. And oh my goodness yes...

It's in Ewing, next to Trenton. Yeah, it's in a flood zone because of its place in the water table. We have a sump pump, so I am hoping the electricity stays on and the pump works. We didn't have the pump when we moved in and found out what it's like when it floods. NOT good.

Yeah, you'd think. Our realtor is pretty much useless in that regard though. I'd fire him but I can't, he was appointed by my company. So I have to rely on friends to look for me. I haven't been able to get anyone over there yet, so I still don't know.

How much torture is this?! I have a house that floods that I am trying to sell, and I now live 800 miles from that house so I cannot be there to make sure the sump pump is working. If the power goes out, I am screwed. Can someone just buy my house? Please? Anyone? Hellloooooo?

Well, crap, the rumors are true. I feel like I am missing out being in MI, another reason I wish I were still there. I find this vexing because I am still a homeowner in NJ and I now have to find someone to shovel and plow so the realtor can get in. I was hoping to get away with it.

this snow is working to my advantage, so I am kinda happy about it. My relocation company has asked me to do all kinds of work on the outside of my house in Trenton before March (I moved to Michigan last week), and I really can't because of the feet and feet of snow on the ground. They can't...

I spent the week in Michigan, I started my job this week, but planned to fly home to NJ after work last night. Fortunately, I was able to take the day off yesterday and get an early flight into Philadelphia. If I hadn't done that, I'd have been stuck in Detroit for days. We have about 8" so far...
