Welp, what appeared to be something on the older lidar does not show up on the new lidar. I'm looking here for the location of the dam:

Tar kilns had clay bottoms that the liquified tar would flow down to before running through a pipe or trough into a bucket. What you visited might have just been a charcoal kiln ("Pit").
Bob, that's a dirt road you see. Here's the 1931 aerial. Notice the path going right through the center of the feature (the feature is where the target is).
It's strange to me that the 2019 lidar is so much more detailed than the lidar found in boydsmaps, yet things show up in the latter that don't show up in the former. Why is that?
yes. i have so many things i need to check out next time I'm down that way. As soon as the snow is all gone, I'm going to check out something I found on Lidar that may prove to be extremely significant archaeologically.
