    In the blazing hot plains

I'm liking that "Disregard GPS" signage. That is needed in a lot of places, including my neighborhood. I have pulled a lot of people out of this neck of Wharton over the years because their GPS has routed them right through impassable dirt roads that appear on Google Maps as well as USGS maps.

New Jersey first lady Tammy Murphy, Attoney General Gurbir Grewal tour Pine Barrens

He needed a breather from helping guide the latest round of ridiculous anti-gun Assembly bills ? Just a guess. :)

New Jersey first lady Tammy Murphy, Attoney General Gurbir Grewal tour Pine Barrens

I do remember reading several articles in the past that deer flies are attracted to the color blue. I that case, him has the wrong color turban. http://entomology.ifas.ufl.edu/pestalert/deerfly.htm

That woods-worthy turban is just the thing for fending off those pesky deer flies this time of year. I'm gonna get me one ! In camo. :)

    50 Acre Fire

Hardheads get softer over time. Hope all is well with your brother. I remember meeting him with you back here in P’town. I think it might have been the first time you and I met too.

Does anybody know what this metal hardware is ?

Looks like the replacement of the wooden bridge built by Meteor Motorcycle Club. That bridge was destroyed by ice damming and or high waters. It is accessed by walking the trails after crossing the condemned bridge behind Pleasant Mills Church. My best guess on the general area...

    Garfield DeMarco

You make a good point. :) I will be putting it up for sale this year. I am the original owner and the bike is all original right down to the tires. I have the title, a.k.a. certificate of origin, Owners Manual and the official Honda shop manual for it. It will likely need come carb work to get...

    Garfield DeMarco

An amazing story Bob. I could not believe the request for burial funds when I read his obituary a few weeks ago. I cannot fathom how someone so educated and so powerful could be so stupid and flippant with his money. In one respect, it seemed like he stayed grounded by staying in his humble...

Route 206 closed near Hammonton due to forest fire

206 has reopened as of 0530. This fire was fairly close to us and with that wind last night, I was a little worried. We had to shut our windows at around 8:00 last night as the smoke was getting stronger. Outside this morning the yard smells like a wet campfire.

    Some Piney's

Thanks 46er. I loved the poke boat rail bird hunting. Something I have always wanted to do on the Maurice. The fox hunting video was awesome too. One of my best friend hunted foxes in his youth throughout the pines and his dad was involved years before he started. His dad kept up to 20...

    Turtle Eggs

Wow. That is a deadly mistake at that intersection Guy. I am used to it because I live here and I have made that turn thousands of times in the last 36 years. 206 is a two lane highway at that spot and there are no conditions that warrant a No Passing zone through the intersection for the 206...

    Roadside Venison

Here you go. In the first pic a turkey vulture is spreading his wings, perhaps to show a little dominance. In the second pic, that's a Bald Eagle butt on the carcass and the black vulture and the turkey vulture are pretending not to notice him. The third pic is the King of the Pile .

    Roadside Venison

Yes I have and I have photos of them together on a carcass cam I set up two years ago. I just have to find them.

    Roadside Venison

Passed this carcass on a neighbor's lawn around 3 today and it was an all-out buzzard convention. However, three hours later our regal National Bird stopped in for a bite and Mr. Buzzard was pushed down to observer status. It was getting crazy after that with anyone driving by slamming on their...

    The Asian Tigers are out

Can I be the first to say that I have been bit by the first deer flies of 2019 tonight ? Planting the vegetable garden tonight and I got chewed twice.

Stupid Question. Re: Bird at Feeder

My wife and I rolled into Ithaca two years ago on the Harley but after looping Seneca and half of Cayuga that day, we and another couple decided to just keep rolling. Motorcycle Heaven up there 46er. We spent a week in Seneca and day tripped out if there on the motorcycle.

Stupid Question. Re: Bird at Feeder

I am not one to junk up my phone with apps. I probably have 5 apps that I have added and the ones that came with the phone. However, today I added Merlin, created by Cornell. It’s free too. As soon as I set it up, I plugged in the information regarding the observations of the brown headed...

Stupid Question. Re: Bird at Feeder

The Cornell site is awesome. The birds we are seeing are the definitely the Brown Headed Cowbird. The call is dead-on to what we are hearing. The habit of depositing of eggs in the nests of other species is simply amazing.
