ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

The money came from the Recreational Trails Grant Program, a federal fund that allows states to build and maintain trails for motorized and non-motorized use. The current story from the DEP is that money from the grant was not spent to close trails. I think that their logic is that the trails...

So the petition goes to Bob Martin, the commissioner of the NJ DEP; Mark Texel, director of the state Park Service; and then whoever your state senator and assemblypeople are. You can find out who they are at this link. You should have received an automated email thanking you for signing the...

In my opinion all things that look like a road and are wide enough to fit an average sized vehicle (not counting the occasional tight branch, because who hasn't had piney pin striping before) should be open unless: It was a road cut through the forest by the FFS within the last 10 years It...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

Mmyself and several other people met with Rob Auermueller for two hours last Saturday. Overall it was a fairly civil meeting, with only a few instances where people started to get heated. Anyway, here are some of the bullet points and my impressions on some of them in no particular order. They...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

Oh, and the FAQ on Al Horner's site is correct. I had a meeting with Rob Auermueller last Saturday (that I will get into later) but he did ask if I would post a link to it. He did want me to wait until it was re-printed with the DEP logo so that it looked legit (supposed to be today), but I was...

    20MP DSLR quality iPhone/Pad camera

That's generally true. For most people more megapixels just equates to bigger files. Having more MP is helpful when you crop pictures. It's a lifesaver when I photograph the local Roller Derby team since the action is often so fast that it's hard to do a decent composition.

    Off-road rage at the Shore

Bumping this as what I said back in 2004 is just as true in 2015. Passing laws like this will only keep the good people out.

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

There are hundreds of other threads about the Pine Barrens that you can read here. I see new posts on other topics every day. This site is still positive. It's just a serious topic of discussion right now. Trust me, there's a lot of other places that are taking a much more negative tone than...

ORV Management In Sensitive Areas Of Wharton

The amount of vitriol and hyperbole spewing all over the internet from both sides of this argument is sickening. If people can't calm down, educate themselves with the facts, and speak rationally then this problem will never be solved.

The thing that saved the Pine Barrens back then was John McPhee's book. That book raised awareness on a national level.
