Guy or anyone else with a Mac - Do you have a native program that will take tracks recorded on a GPS and somehow overlay them on a map like USAtopomaps used to do? Preferably a Mac native program?

I love the plains as well. My only problem is photography there. It's hard to capture the scale of the trees.

The problem is with the links in those posts. If a GPX file is not specified, the URL needs to end with a &gpx=. In the Calico Ridge thread, Jeff's link doesn't include the equals sign. In the other link it says &gpx=undefined which I don't know how/why they got that link. It looks like...

I'm pretty sure that's not a railroad spike, but it looks like it could be a rivet or some other sort of fastener along the lines of the photograph below.

Cave Cabin could also easily be named after a person with the surname of Cave who owned a cabin in the area.

I have never heard of any sort of settlement here, merely the that Chicken Bone is the name of that topography. Jerseyman: Is that set of Beers atlases available online? I know RU Special Collections has the 1872 Beers Atlas sheets, but they are not as detailed as the one you posted.

Interesting that I just noticed this three year old thread today. I have been kicking around with the idea of trying to update NJPB Live Maps to the Google Maps API v3 or the Bing Maps API. Throwing in the LIDAR maps once I have WMS working in the new API should be a piece of cake.

I believe disposing of computer monitors legally is pretty hard and/or expensive because of the toxicity of the materials. I remember helping my friend's dad move his warehouse full of computer parts and he had to get a special dumpster to dispose of old CRTs.
