I agree, I think your evidence is compelling. They knew these areas had stone, but at the time they had no idea it was due to inverted topography.

Saw a tree stand last week that was flourished with the remains of either a fake christmas tree or fake wreaths in the hopes deer would not recognize the hunter. Certainly garish though, displaying a glossy sheen in a green color uncommon in the pines.

Incredible, and unmanagable. It would take 20 minutes at each stop for everyone to park and get to the site. And then another 20 minutes to walk back to the cars and assemble themselves, and this is generous I'm sure.
