    Pinelands Commission Resolution: MAP 2.0

Johnny, a good file for that...NJ-openspace.KMZ...I think I got it from Al. Import it into Google Earth. The green-bounded areas are open space. Click inside one and the file tells you what it is.

    Just 0 days...

If you don't mind me asking, why did you stop seasonal camping? I'm just curious, because I realize when people secure a site, they usually stay for the long haul.

    The John Rutherford Tract Project

Excellent Guy. Do you leave it uncovered? By the way, got ticklets (tick nymphs) twice today, but destroyed them all. How about you?

    Jose, Maria

Nature played a cruel joke on my sister. She and her husband drove west from Port St. Lucie on the east coast to Tampa to a relative's home to get out of the eye, and then when Irma shifted west she had to drive all the way back, bringing the relative with them. You can't make this stuff up.

Oh, I see. Yes, I've seen that photo, and that is not me. But I'm 90% sure the guy in the front is Emile.

    Wescoat Bogs at Sunset

PBX did a trip through Wescoat Bogs in Feb, 2002 on a trip led by Bob Bruneau. It is very grown up since then judging by Jon's photos.

    Loose Critter?

Since 2 miles from my house, I just checked. No bear tracks, but a couple deer tracks, which leads me to the most likely scenario. A deer was hit on Dover road, and probably was partially lying down in the sand. Someone likely called the zoo eventually and the cops were there to assist in...

    Loose Critter?

JD, there is a wealth of info on this topic in the forum. Use "ten mile hollow" in your search. Here is a good one: https://forums.njpinebarrens.com/threads/mystery-cemetary-dover-forge.675/#post-115541

    Seasons are a Changin'

Ron, I missed the request in between the photos. Yes, your Master-Naturalist relative is correct. It is Ludwigia linearis (Narrow-leaf primrose), a rare pine barren plant. They have been found before in that area. My friend Mark had pointed them out to me a few years ago.

A bear? I originally did not think of that, but it's not out of the question.

    Loose Critter?

I'm driving west on Dover Road from the intersection of Lacey Road yesterday around 1PM, heading to the parkway for a visit up north. When i get to that curve where ten-mile hollow is, near the small pond on the north side of the road, I see something strange on the trail heading back to the...

    Botany and Healing

Weird that in the link, if you click on the authors name, the book finally appears. I never read it. I'll bet most of it is lore, and half of it is a stretch.
