I was thinking about what Stafford Forge could really become if enough money and vision were involved. I'd break a wide (maybe 100 feet) breach in each dike so that the water level is always equal throughout all ponds. That would have the secondary effect of eliminating those dangerous spillway...

I do think Webb's Branch is a more substantial stream, but my reasoning may be flawed. Despite both streams being sourced west of route 539 (at about the same longitude) Webb's Branch always has a strong flow west of 539, whereas the Chamberlin completely stops flowing West of 539 in many years.

I kayaked down the Oswego River yesterday. I used to do the Oswego a lot in the 1970’s, so I was shocked to see how the wider areas (and even next to the the banks on the narrow areas) are overtaken by Zizania aquatica. I did not take photos in the heavier sections because I had to fight my way...

It really is a dangerous situation. If that dam blew out, it would not be good if anyone is canoeing on the river system that reservoir feeds. I don't think it would wipe them totally out, but the first shock might cause them to tip over into a swirling mess.
