    Music for the day

Although I never bought their music, it was always on the radio while driving around with my friends. Never tired of it, and always liked it.

    Stuck

It's really evident that she was just inching in, bit by bit until she actually got bit. Did she have a male passenger giving advice? :D

For those interested in the State Forests at the other end of NJ

:p Reminds me of the time in 1977 I took my CJ5 up to the Catskills. I took a dim road such as you show and it would up and up and up (crazy me at 23 kept going) until we came to the end. A little cabin/house, all snug up there against a drop-off with a beautiful view of lakes and mountains in...

    Stuck

That's embarrasing. Poor guy had no clue. Every male should at least have to go through metal shop in school. He probably wanted you to hook it at the top of the rack too. :p

Plan to put gas pipeline in Pinelands spurs ire

I tend to agree, especially when these projects tend to result in saving a lot of other land in exchange for the right to do something like this. Then again, if this were planned to go through the pine plains and a cedar swamp or two, I'd be lying down in front of the bulldozers. :D Still, I...

Trip report: Pilgrim Lake Campground and Bass River SF exploring

Wouldn't that be West? I see where I was wrong. I had no idea the gate was that far south on Allen road.

States that drink the most beer

The numbers don't seem right. And California has a lot of shipping ports like New York, which is probably skewing the data.

Trip report: Pilgrim Lake Campground and Bass River SF exploring

"I also wish I could see on the map where I had been, so if anyone wants to hazard a guess and try to figure out how I got from Point A (Allen Road) to Point B (Where Martha Road hits Chatsworth Road) I'd be grateful!" Now that is a tall order given the clues! Did you come out at Harrisville?

    Strange Weather Pattern

That was one huge summer storm last nite over Ocean County. Frequent strong lightning and thunder and torrential rain.

Swimming beach @ Bass River SF closed due to poor water quality

I like Lake Absegami. It may be warm sometimes, but if you have a child or two with you, it is fun to swim with them in that lake. At least my memory tells me so.

A Pines settlement called "Chicken Bone"?

Mike, If you don't get out there this summer, Guy and I have a PBX trip kind of roughed out in our head for that area. If you want you can join us for that trip. Maybe we'll do it this fall. After your search, send me or Guy an email if you are interested. PS: we don't run unless the cops...

    Revisiting the Shoemaker Farm

A shame, for sure. That yellow building though, that looks like it had been painted and shingled within the past 5 years or so.

    Union Clay Works Cellar Digging

It does look like a pot hunter to me. That iron implement looks to have been crudely crafted in a foundary, most likely from that era (a guess). I like the color and vibrancy of the grasses.

My first Orchid of the season

Here's an interesting article. First time I heard the name: Orchid Heads! :p http://seattletimes.com/html/nationworld/2009716339_orchid23.html

My first Orchid of the season

Thanks Tom! Just curious. If you had given me two choices, I'd pick those two. I saw one in Cape May County, and always suspected one in Atlantic. Nice flower.
