    Behind Atsion

This was what Guy had told me in the Email........"That is the Sewell Gun Club Rifle Range. The property was part of Fruitland and for some reason Wharton was not able to purchase that tract and it still is in private hands. There is another small lot nearby that still is private also."

    Found at Quaker Bridge

That's pretty cool Mark. It does look like an old one for sure. Kind of like this style: http://www.knobsandhardware.com/hinges/gatemate-574-antique-colonial-tee-hinge-powder-coated-black_g712875.html

    Behind Atsion

I asked that of Guy 2 days ago. That is a private rifle range. He has photo's of the gate leading in. There are buildings there....but your photo does not show them. Look on Bing.

Garmin BirdsEye - aerial imagery subscription

Thanks Boyd, that is good info. I am taking my time, trying to absorb a little at a time. Guy made a comment during several of our treks about having to tap the screen (on the Oregon) to get back where it was while walking, because we invariably hit them on branches and brush all the time. That...

    Forked River Mountains at Night

Pretty cool Ben. Did you stop on the mountain, or keep going? Where was the TNC Mailbox---that large open area? I can tell by the huge pole.

Garmin BirdsEye - aerial imagery subscription

Thanks Guy, for the detailed explanation. I was not going to try to download to the one you are going to loan me. I was looking towards the future. What's up with this one...the Garmin 62st..is the jury back from deliberation on this one? Is it guilty as charged...

Garmin BirdsEye - aerial imagery subscription

This is a statement on Birds Eye at the Garmin site I noticed today: "Expiration Date The subscription lasts 1 year from the activation date. You will need to renew subscription after 1 year. Imagery downloaded to your GPS device during the 1 year subscription does not expire." Does that...

    Automotive GPSs

Thanks 46r. After a bit more research and seeing your email, I got the Garmin 255W for $89.95 at BJs.

    Automotive GPSs

I am going to buy one for my daughter. Like everything else electronic, the number of brand models makes me dizzy and tired when I start to research. Have any of you already done that dirty work? If you wanted to spend less than $200, what automotive GPS would you get?

    Tuesday with Alfie

Guy, where you parked; wasn't that where we stashed water on the "Seven Scenic Savannas" trek?

    Who/what would you be?

Hi BK....any Giberson is a friend of mine. Is Fiddlin' Sammy a kin of your'n? I love that Nacote Creek area. It is tucked away nice and neat, and Port Republic is a beautiful little place. I was down there last summer poking around 575 and the bridge on the south side.

    Batsto Forge

It's amazing to think that the time between now and when New Pond was formed is 115 years, but it is 156 years from the time New Pond was formed to when Cripps Sawmill was constructed. That is a lot of water over the mill dam my friend.

    Newest style of Bog Boots

Nice Karl! Except....they will get stuck in punky, wet wood. On the good side, if you get caught without your gun by one of the infamous "Carranza Cougars", you can lie on your back pretending you are dead..and then when he gets close, poke his eyes out!

    Newest style of Bog Boots

I was thinking it was time for a change. Do you think I'd look good stomping around the spungs, cripples, cedar swamps, and savannas in these? http://www.zappos.com/kate-spade-new-york-randi-black-shiny-rubber Yes?--No? How about these then...

    Waterfowling The Pines

Nice story Scott. I swear I could smell the crisp clear morning when I viewed the photos. I need to get out earlier to enjoy the peace and time to think. That looks like the place with the Pines's longest beaver dam that you led us to on the PBX trek.

    They changed Bing again

That is terrible! The map is all mixed up, and it hides stuff when you want to view it macro. I left them a message. Put it back the way it was!

    afterglow

Thanks for the kind words Bill. It comes from detailing plants out to see what they are...and my eyes never stop roaming in the woods.
