    February 2

Nice. Frosty. I always like to see at least one cold and snowy snap each year. Makes the coming spring even more welcome.

    Cotote Warning Sign

Most 12 year old kids would not get this sign. Probably.

A Look Inside Lenape Farms WMA

It is a huge space. Good for exploring.

A Look Inside Lenape Farms WMA

I meant Lake Lenape. That's why I said "May's Landing".

A Look Inside Lenape Farms WMA

That's an interesting tract that I've never paid any attention to, but should. I wonder, is it tidal all the way up to the lake at Mays Landing? I would think that to really explore it, a small motor boat would be preferable to a kayak.

3D maps show parts of NJ are the most densely populated on the planet

Bridgeton is a very small area with a HUGE crime problem. Do you have to do business there Al?

    Paper Wasps

This one was particularly effective. The 4th can made me chuckle when he turned it on. The fumes likely helped do them in.

    Paper Wasps

I like that idea too. But maybe a heavier duty type of bag (burlap?). The guys who tried that bag method in the post above should have used a real clipper/snipper on the branch, not a hedge trimmer.

    Paper Wasps

That was a bold thing to do. I'll call you if I get one in my yard.

    Paper Wasps

Well, he did try something different. These wasps are tenacious.

    Paper Wasps

This guy tries a novel approach to remove a bald-faced hornet nest. I would have tried something different. He likes his toys I suppose.

    RAIN?

I think they underestimated. I'd be surprised if Forked River gets less than 2" from 6 PM last night until this ends.

"Wild and windswept plains that only the Jersey 'Pineys' know"

Nice article. They do have one error. The plains are also east of route 539, and they extend all the way to route 72 towards the East and the Parkway East by SE.

    Snow

National weather service now invests in hedge funds. Sussex County may get nothing, they may get 15". It's all too complicated now. It's like they want to say, "well, we did tell you there is a likely range".

    Snow

"wet stuff is coming, we don't know what type it will be". That should be their new forecasting announcement. It was not supposed to snow here last night, so I did not put the car away. I got almost an inch on it now.

What makes these tracks in the frozen lake?

I agree. He was on his way home from the Pic-A-Lilli Inn.

    Forked River Mountain Hike

Sure, there are many ways to get there, but that begs several questions: Do you have a vehicle that will be okay on those roads in order to get to your jumping off spot? Do you want to bushwhack with a GPS or do you want to walk the sand roads? How many miles do you want to walk to get there?
