    Sunday snow day in Wharton

You are not insane. I've done that several times, at least twice for wet clothes and about 3 times for chigger-ticks that I did not notice until most of them were in the seams of my pants.

Like I said, forecasting has been poor lately.

    Forked River Mountain Hike

Note: I'm not crazy for suggesting a hiker take the sand roads in to the mountain. The surrounding terrain in the lowlands is somewhat similar to the pine plains, with stunted trees, but even more impenetrable. Bushwhacking would be strenuous and frustrating. Believe me.

    Forked River Mountain Hike

The dirt road to the mountain runs SW of Lacey Road, and is 800 feet NW of Carriage Road.

    What is This Thing ?

Enjoy those children. Once they are all 18, you'll look back and say wow!, those years were the best years of my life! Where did the time go?

    Beaver in the Delaware River

Something similar happened to me today Scott. I was having trouble, and so I moved the photos to a different folder and then used a different photo editor to rotate them, and it worked.

Shreve Branch - An Attempt to Revisit

There is a Juncus scirpoides that it could be, but I lean towards J. canadensis until I see a seed.

Another trip to Manumuskin River Preserve

Blasphemy! Just kidding. I don't think there is a soul on this site that doesn't visit the outside world, but the pines never look the same to me. You can't explore them all in your lifetime. That keeps the interest alive.

    The end of Garmin Basecamp

That, my friend, is one of the most despicable acts by Garmin of all. It is scandalous. I can see some 4-eyed, pointy-headed corporate guy announcing to his managers "Let's make people pay for a new subscription to Birdseye every time they upgrade to another GPS, regardless of whether they...

A Squooshy Day in the Pines

Great stuff Ron! I love your reports. I'm very surprised at this area. It is much more productive in T&E plants than I ever thought it would be, and in fact, it looks nothing like I envisioned it to be. I can even see Narthecium in the pitcher plant photo.

    The end of Garmin Basecamp

Truth be told, I asked for and got a Garmin Nuvi 55 for Christmas in 2017. I am shocked at how many times it took me to my location in such a oddball way. And I did set it correctly. Now I'm not saying it's all bad, but when it does something off, it really annoys me. When it does happen, I...
