    Announcing the new NJPB Maps

Ben, I've noticed a radical slowing when loading the aerial maps. I'd like to ensure it is not my computer, but Google Earth is still very fast to use.

    Tuesday In The Pines

It was pristine water Al. It rises from the bottom of a sandy ridge. Guy, how do you like this one. Taken with my S6 Android phone.

    Northern Water Snake ?

A stinky, nasty snake. I avoid them. Give them a wide berth.

    Tuesday In The Pines

Scott, When I moved into my house in '82, I soon had trouble with my sewage not draining. Dug it up, and surprise! The system was made with Orangeburg pipe connecting to nothing but a cesspit made with interlocking bricks. The roots had no trouble getting into the joints. A new system with...

    Pine Barren Flora

Cooks Branch, where it flows into the lake. Quite astounding to see! And yes, I never saw a box turtle swim either.

    RAIN?

Whoops! Back up to 70 this morning and now partly sunny, with no mention of rain. A roller coaster.

    RAIN?

Do you recall that Derecho? That was wild! It knocked down some weak (but huge) cedars downwind of Bamber Lake like they were toys. I was shocked. This morning, I heard the weather channel host mentioning the cells assembling in the midwest could conceivably spawn one. Here is a good Wiki...

    Ticks & Chiggers--a study

Diablo (Amigo!), in case you did not read my edited post, here is more. Also, stay away from jeans. Use a light colored pant so you can see the little pests and flick them off with your fingers. And stay away from convertible pants....the nymphs have been known to squeeze in by the zipper. Same...

    Ticks & Chiggers--a study

Diablo! Yeehaaa! Come to the cantina with me for a drink of tequila. Use this product according to the directions. Do not use it the day of the hike unless you forget to the day before...

    RAIN?

I'm going by memory and experience. Part of my experience involves scheduling over 70 PBX weekend hikes. I used to be able to, with high confidence, tell the crew on Friday noon, that we were good to go. Now I wait till 6 PM and still have been caught off-guard by an 11 PM change to the...

    RAIN?

About 8 hours prior to writing my post, I recall the forecast being 76 degrees and partly sunny with no rain forecast. And that was the forecast for 2 or 3 days. It suddenly started sliding downhill (for this area) to 72 degrees and partly sunny with a 30% chance of rain later in the afternoon.

    RAIN?

Saturday is looking worse than the forecast just 6 hours ago. I can't understand why the forecasting is not as good as it was just 10 years ago.

    You Decide

Nope. This is hot enough to catch fire. I'd not trust anything anyone told me at this point. I'd have to see written agreements. This is for the courts to settle.
