Oct 28 9:45 6th annual PINE BARRENS 4 WHEEL DRIVE CLEANUP

Westcoat is one of my longtime favorite areas Bob. I'll talk to you tomorrow about the logistics of what we have to yank. If you think we can do something there let's do it. I think one run through Pestletown might take care of things.

    The call of the wild

The first coyotes I heard in NJ were about 10 years ago near Wescoat bogs. It was a cold, quiet and dark morning and a friend of mine and I were setting up tree stands about an hour before dawn for deer. The coyotes were off in the distance near the river and it was an awesome sound. It made...

    Broke in the New Jeep

I don't know Bob I think I still see paint in that picture. :) Nobody and I mean nobody, can rival the woods wear that I have seen on a guy named Jake Meredith's trucks. He is a fox hunter and lives in Chatsworth. I don't know him personally but one of my best friends does, whose father...

    Broke in the New Jeep

Can't worry about the paint if you love the woods. My wife and I are now using her old 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee (white) as our woods truck on occassion. We had it back to Mannis yesterday and I was very happy with how tight it can turn. We were going to sell it but we decided to keep it for the...

    Refreshing the Soul

I am sorry to hear about your dad Tom. I know that he must have been a fisherman because I remember your post about selling the boat that was docked at Matt's Landing. My dad was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 1990 and died in 1997. One of my biggest regrets was not being able to get him out...

    Chatsworth Cranberry Festival

Batsto Country Living Fair is on Sunday too. I haven't hit Chatsworth in along time. Way too many people. Batsto has some cool antique equipment, tractors and hit and miss engines.

    Refreshing the Soul

Thanks everyone for the kind words . She is slowly improving each day and will likely be in the hospital for at least the balance of this week. The nursing staff has been great and have showed a lot of compassion toward her.

    Refreshing the Soul

I had a very trying week this past week with my 85 year old mother knocking on heaven's door. She has severe dementia and has been in the NJ Veterans home for 8 years. My father died there in 1997 with Alzheimers. On Wednesday she was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia and a bad urinary...

    Adirondack Trip

You are living quite the life there Mr. Bob. Beautiful photographs. The wine grape harvest and juicing is in full swing up there right now. I just got some NY juice from my Hammonton supplier the other day and he will be hauling down more next week. I guess you were feeling a little small...

    Mullica, Then

I was once a boob-scanning 25 year old myself. :) Talk about out of context. Cool pics George. It is always awesome seeing tidal water bodies lock up tight.

This heat should raise some alarms

I agree with Mark. Its easy to believe it's an indication of global warming when you are standing in sweat in October but as soon as we return to normal in a few days, that perception will change. Temperature records have not really been kept all that long from a historical perspective but...

Oct 28 9:45 6th annual PINE BARRENS 4 WHEEL DRIVE CLEANUP

You have got me dead wrong there junior! I have never killed a snake and never would unless he was chewing on my good leg. You apparently can't tell when I am kidding. I don't care for snakes and that's the end of it. I am far from ignorant on wildlife matters. I have a degree in natural...

Oct 28 9:45 6th annual PINE BARRENS 4 WHEEL DRIVE CLEANUP

If I am the one that discovers the snake, I scream like a girl and look for the nearest board with nails in it to beat the snake with. :) I would much rather displace a snake den or some field mice than to have to look at the crap that people have the balls to dump in the woods. I live in...

    Whippoorbill's gift to us

Whoa! That was awesome. Something to play in the middle of the winter to shift your thoughts to a muggy summer night in the pines. The only thing missing was the whine of the mosquitoes that had to be sucking the life out of him while he made the recording. Thanks Whipporwill.

    Loss Of Hunting,fishing And Trapping

Y-Buc-Bill is a good friend of mine and has more energy at 82 then I have at 49. Bill is a hunter, trapper and fisherman with the utmost in sportsman's ethics at heart. This assembly bill is bad news for any sportsman or woman and could have disastrous effects on hunting AND fishing sports in...

    Martha Road

Boyd I am a licensed surveyor and work with road vacations regularly. Once vacated, the owners on either side gain the land to the centerline of the former road. When a municipality decides to vacate a right of way it must be done by ordinance. That requires two public readings and a hearing...
