9 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 more to go and we've all done this for a DECADE!!!!!!!!

Come and take part in the largest one-day volunteer event at Wharton State Forest in New Jersey. On Oct 24nd 2010 at 9:00 AM the 9th annual PINE BARRENS 4 WHEEL DRIVE CLEANUP will begin with a sign up at the Atsion Ranger stations [where raffle tickets will aslo se sold to help defray the cost of wings] and conclude with the raffle and wing fest at the Pic a Lilly restaurant on rt 206 [they always help us out too]

Last year 200 men, women and children collected two 30 cubic yard dumpsters full of trash while making new friends and enjoying the wonders of the pines. While doing this they worked up a voracious appetite that was satiated by hundreds of wings donated by clubs, businesses and individuals. Before leaving there was a drawing where gift certificates, a gold music record award, books, under hood microwaves [big shout out to IKEA] and tons of other stuff were generously donated by members and their businesses. LIke the past 7 years everyone had a great time and said they couldn’t wait till next year.

We are now soliciting past participants, 4 wheel drive clubs and local and national business’ to contribute time and resources to make this year’s event another overwhelming success.

This as a great opportunity to showcase a partnership for keeping our state lands clean and our right to transverse them unhindered. The rangers and staff at Wharton have embraced us and lend their time and support to help us have a safe and fun time. Terry at the ranger station has been a godsend to us and NOW MORE than ever the state of NJ park and forest system needs our help.

ALSO REMEMBER TOYS FOR TOTS..

Last year we collected a lot of stuff for needy children for the holidays at the sign up spot at the Atsion ranger station!!!!!!!

Please be a part of this worthwhile event. Contact Michael Tarsia to see how your family, organization or business can contribute to this worthy cause.

Thank you in advance for your dedication to a beautiful, clean and accessible state forest system.

PLEASE COPY AND PASTE THIS ON YOUR LOCAL CLUB or MAGAZINE EVENT PAGE TO GET THE WORD OUT!

Nice to see you on here Mike. Your efforts are appreciated beyond words can describe. It is important that this is attended not only by the 4x4x guys but anyone who appreciates the pines. I will have my land rover there with a trailer on the back and am not scared to get to some difficult spots. I'm sure I'd have some room for anyone who wants to attend but not use their own vehicle.
I look forward to seeing everyone there.

Dave, as long as I don't have the annual Corvette show at Smithville that day, I'll be there. This will be my first cleanup, and I have a full size F150 with a 6.5' bed (new, no piney pin stripes on it!! LOL!!). Will this vehicle be OK to use??

I have done this every year and have had a blast!

My issue with this year ois that I have a REALLY bad set of brakes and will not risk it.

I want to do it and if someone has a seat for me...I will buy them wings at the PIC!!!!

really hope to see a good turnout..rain or shine as always!

we desperately need guides...vehicle groups should be like 3 or 4 short wheel base and a fullsize with a guide

NOT 9-15 vehicles all swb like happened with some groups last year..

this year ..i'm making poster signs with name of trails and stock or modified veh needed and were are going to block the exit until everyone is in a line and we have the right mix of vehicles...sometimes the larger things get the more unwieldily..i 'd like a giant turnout..but we need the guides and people to help take charge..terry and i can't do it alone and every year there are only about 5-10 people who bust their butts as guides..usually the same people every year..we need 1 guide for every 4-5 vehicles

I have a full size pickup truck that I'd be happy to use, however, it is not 4x4. Is it worth the potential trouble of getting stuck?
