Turkey Point

IMG_5814s_zps23fb7031.jpg

Two strikes attempting to observe Comet PanSTARRS from bayside locations. Saturday night at Turkey Point; then this evening at Sea Breeze. I was surprised to see the street light fire up at the latter. There used to be a road here. And a stop sign. Another road led to the area of the pilings in the background. People lived in structures built upon the pilings. It wasn't all that long ago.

Alfreda has been begging me to check out a neck of the woods in Salem County (an area that should be familiar to PBX folk). "Gots frog potential," she said. It took me weeks to finally get out there. Glo and Sparky were along to redirect me when I became disoriented ... which happened several times. Conditions weren't ripe for shooting as it was late in the day and overcast. We'll be back to listen for frogs when it finally warms up.

I didn't notice any road noise when I was out there.Of course at night it may be a different story with sound carrying further in damp air.May be a good recording spot near you if the frogs are there.I'd say at least peeper and Leopard frogs with maybe some chorus and cricket frogs thrown in,maybe Fowlers and greys also but I doubt any PBTF's or Carpenters.Won't be anything if the weather doesn't improve, cold and nasty is all we're getting.

More images from our weekly jaunts to the bayside. Happy New Year.

The road into Sea Breeze often floods now during high tide. Buddy, in the foreground, is well behaved. Sparky, in the background wreaking marsh havoc, is never well behaved.

Gloria and Sparky

Strong breeze

A few from Fortescue's glades trail, taken in the fall

Back to the Breeze

Cold, wind-whipped bay

Home, sweet home.
Thx for looking.

Are you HDRing? Some of them look so.Fourth from bottom especially so. I like the two fuzzies from the glades trail and the first one is really cool.
Your remarks on Sparky's behavior are definitely an understatement. If he had of got my sammich things could have gotten ugly. He's still mad at me for saving Buddy's life.
