I am truly saddened by this acquisition. :(
There is nothing wrong with an ice cold Bud.
I don't think I can drink it anymore knowing its owned by cold, heartless Eurotrash.
Check out Inbev's corporate philosophy:
http://www.inbev.com/go/brands.cfm
They're all about "positioning", brand recognition and "investment". Not a whole lot about actual beer.
I know Anheuser is a corporate monster too but at least they were American monsters.
Me likes America a lot.

Good one!

Any good American microbrews under your belt recently, my red-nekked cohort?

You have no idea Piney Maestro!
My older son bought me a case of the Dogfishhead 90 Minute IPA for Father's Day and enjoying that has been just about the high point of my 50 years on the planet.
A good second place is Wolaver IPA by Otter Creek.
I took my younger son out fishing on my boat two weeks ago with some friends and I told them I didn't want their money for fuel or bait.
At the end of the day they made a beer run and came back to the marina and presented me with a cooler full of Wolaver IPA, Stoudts Double IPA and Stoudt's American Ale.
No fish to speak of but the beer afterwards was unforgettable.
Life is good Maestro.

Hah. A month or so ago A-B was going to slash a bunch of positions, sell Busch Gardens, and potentially close a brewery or two to avoid the buyout.

Bud will continue to be the same crappy, watery beer that it's always been. If anything InBev will improve it a bit.

I don't remember people complaining when Miller was bought out by the South Africans.

You have some damn good kids, dude. :) Have you tried Stoudt's pilsener? If not, I do recommend you try it. Strong on the German hops. Speaking of which, it's about time for me to go pick some hops. Get this: They are a German strain of hops that were brought over by the Germans to Egg Harbor City. I would guess that this strain was utilized by at least one of the original breweries of Egg Harbor City. My friend and I brewed a batch of beer with these hops last year, and it turned out pretty good. I'm going to try a few things differently this time and see if it doesn't come out better. I'll let you know when its ready for consumption!

Miller High Life is the Champagne of Beers! And quite tasty too.

Last weekend I had both Miller High Life, and Bud when the Miller ran out. It was a rough switch to make.

Miller high life is one beer i do not like and never will. Bud say what you want but it has always been consistent. Maybe for most consistently bad, but always consistent.

Hey, my father in law loves it too.

In all seriousness, it's one of the best selling beers in the world. InBev bought A-B for that brand and the recipe. It's doubtful that they would want to change it. I don't think anybody has anything to worry with the Belgians buying A-B.

I agree. But it is a little upsetting that they sold out. I know the economy is tough, our dollar sucks, and they got a good offer. But the american lager, king of beers, you think of america. It just will make me think twice before purchasing it. Maybe i'll have to move on and try different beers now. There is plenty of suggestions i can find on this thread i know.
