The joy may be short-lived. I was advised late today that he intends to install another gate further into the woods on the same road; possibly as soon as tomorrow. It ain't over yet.

As I said before his property does not cross that road so if he does it again it should come down.

In any event, at this point in time from what we know the state appears to have worked hard at this.

Yes they have Guy and I hope they don't give up if the gate again blocks access to the public lands.

The location is at or near the Gun Branch crossing beneath the road, according to my friend who saw it on Thursday afternoon.
The Google distance from 206 is about 2,100'.

I bet the reason why he put it there is that he figured it would be hard to cut around it through the swamp.

Without going into detail I believe the fact that he put the gate at it's current location tells me volumes. He basically gave up 2000 feet of a road he must have felt he owned. It should be interesting to see what comes of this.
