I am actually at Atsion lake and it deafly crossed the Quaker bridge dirt road and now it's moving north parallel to 206. traffic is being diverted from Atsion and 206 and Stokes to Stokes and 206 did not affect the church ranger station or mansion

Smoke smell is strong over here on atsion road near medford border. My backyard is looking pretty hazy.

Last I heard was 700 acres and no containment.

You know... they even have signs on 55, 42 and 295 warning people about dry conditions. If they did not tell everyone this I bet we could get through a fire season without these idiots starting fires.

Was at my sons baseball game and could see another column of smoke going up towards Winslow or Hammonton

90% of all our fires in NJ started by humans, whether by accident or intentional. I hope this is accidental.

CURRENT NJ WILDFIRE ACTIVITY
05/07/15 @ 1330 hrs- SECTION B1- **MAJOR WILDFIRE** Shamong Twp, Wharton State Forest, Atsion- "Atsion Wildfire" Rt 206 east of Atsion Ranger Station. NJFFS crews currently burning out for containment. Multiple aircraft were used but have since been suspened due to nightfall. Fire is projected to increase in size to about 710 acres after burn-out. No structures are currently threatened. Route 206 has been reopened. Command post is at the Atsion ranger station on Route 206. Updated 2056 news link

I was on the south west side of Atsion Lake at one of my favorite rest spots when I spotted a bit of smoke. It must have just started.

A few minutes later.

It's very dry right now.

by that photo looks like quaker bridge road would pass right through it.they should've waited for the fire ,it would have taken those beetles out instead of the carnage the state reeked.Still haven't figured out how dropping trees in piles with the bark still on em gets rid of beetles.
