I don't really think Aaron meant that it was okay to hurt a 4x4'er. I took it that he meant even law abiding citizens could be injured. Of course, 4x4's are allowed in the SF, it is just a question of responsible use. Also, as one poster noted, a motorcyclist could easily be killed by such a trap. There are alot of legal riders in the SF (myself included). legal or illegal, it really doesn't matter, this is serious criminal activity to be setting these traps.

I agree I do 4 wheel I have 7" lifted Cherokee and it's not like I go tear up the pines because I do take my stock truck back there ad well , we do clean ups , I hike there alot , geocache , walk my dog , and where this guy set the traps is deff intended for offoaders , it's a swamp away from anything else there really not bothering anyone back there and that's why they go there , they could just be total dicks and tear up every trail but even us 4 wheelers have respect , this guy Aron clearly made the statement that's he's against 4 wheeling and do hope 4 wheelers get there tires ripped up and such , it's people like him that put those traps out there

I hope, and pray and just hope some more that I find the people doing this crap. I also hope I get hurt on them after I witness them do it. I have the money to push this through court and would have a great time doing it and press every legal button my lawyer and myself could find to the point that they wouldn't be able to live their lives normally anymore. I'm done with this crap and investing in cameras and going to the fullest extent. Oh and if anyone is lurking this site that agrees with this or has done this. heres my address, and phone number.....lets chat.

In post #12 Broke Jeep Joe stated
"OK ,approximate coordinates are 39.766292 74.661026. They were found in one of the large puddles on High Crossing Road on your way from Hampton Furnace to High Crossing."

That is a mojor road, not
"and where this guy set the traps is deff intended for offoaders , it's a swamp away from anything else there really not bothering anyone back there "

The section of Hampton Furnace High Crossing Road with the puddels is here

Major off road damage has been done here and was pretty much started by The State Forest Fire Service back in the late 1990's. Had they let it alone the area would have recovered, as parts of it they didn't touch already have.

It used to be a beautiful area with grasses and wild flowers before the fire but now it's full of mud holes and trash.
What's interesting to note is that those off roading there are very predictable, Friday night to Sunday afternoon. It would be easy to catch them but aparently the police don't care.

Really? You think that? They are there all times of day and night! I have seen people going in there all different times. And so you know part of the problem is that the rangers do chase them, however they do not have the ability to go someof the places these guys go (very deep water,Etc). They are on a major crack down on the people that are illigially wheeling theses areas. These traps are placed sometimes on legally marked roads.

So i guess we should stay off the main road that goes from Caranza Rd over to 522 since its not a "Marked Road"?

The weekends are nuts there. There are only 4 roads leading into that pit which can be easily covered when they want to get them. One of them is dry and you can drive up to the area with a camera and record it. If the police want them they could catch them. It can be walked to even with this water.

Where the hell did this come from? I never mentioned "marked road" nor where you could or could not drive.

BTW where is 522 in Tabernacle?

"These traps are placed sometimes on legally marked roads"

Didn't I say that in post #27 when I called out Hampton Furnace - High Crossing Road and even provided a map to help you?
Better go back and read the post, and try to keep your imagination from getting the better of you.

We had a discussion on where it is permitted to drive in Wharton awhile back. Maybe some one can find it. There are laws covering this.

Me thinks your a troll.

If u look up the posted cords it's just off high crossing , there's a trails that cuts off to the right (coming from Hampton furnace) wich brings u directly and only to the swamp just acrossed the RR tracks , there is geocaches hidden in that area but not many people venture down that trail

And I know the laws on where u can legally drive called "paper trails" but is it right for a cilivian that's way over Eco friendly to set up traps for people who wonder off those trails , maybe it's a horse or a hiker , he mind as well go around and start killing all te drug dealers and mafia members as he's at it , most people know where where there not allowed and take the chance of being caught by the LAW not some crazy vigalanty hippie

Slag heap here we come, please!! They were found on Hampton / High Crossing Road, not the immediate right after the bridge that takes you to 1/4 mile. Let's stop calling it the "swamp" and use the name that everyone on this and every other board knows. They were not found in 1/4 mile. but about 2 or 3 holes down from the right turn devilstoy is talking about. The coordinates I posted are semi-accurate and no where close to being in "the swamp" as Ed showed on the topo he attached (thanks Ed!) My point of this post was not to start a pro and con on the hobby of 4 wheeling or start a who destroys what and who belongs where in the woods argument. It was purely for educational value and to show folks that we all need to be a little more careful about where we let our dogs run, put our tires or horse hooves! Sorry, motorcycles too Jeff ! I am done posting on the subject and suggest everone else do the same.

Mudboy,

I would seriously consider removing your address and number. It just is not a good idea to post them.
