Yeah, where there were dozens last year there are only a few this year and the few must have been tasty. I'll look around the area better when it cools down.

I headed out at 5AM this morning to set the stage for an evening outing with Rob from work in a few weeks. On the way down 563 I saw the first event in the below video, and then the video fades to the first location I visited to look for white orchids. Might as well have one video and not two. The first event is pretty early so it is semi dark. I assume they do this early all the time.

I also found yellow orchids looking promising at the location Bob and I found a few years back. In a few weeks they will be prime.

Some are really small. I found at least 6 of them and I am sure there are more.

Very cool, Teegate! I might of just missed you this morning. I was scouting nearby in Penn. I saw a plane similar looking parked on the sand runway up the road, next to the building with the windsock.

I just checked and I was there at 6:20AM. I then drove to Sim Place from Oswego Road and then to Warren Grove.

Yes, I just missed you. I was back along Lost Lane and Beaver Dam Rd to sometime around noon. There are interesting cedar swamps in both areas.

- A question about an observation, for those who have been in areas where Barren orchids grow, and I will try to ask in "code". The preferred habitat of the native orchids is transitional areas with filtered sunlight and "rich" soil?

What kind of orchid be that? Just picked up Boyd's wildflower book and am going to try to dispel some of my ignorance in the wildflower field. It Doesn't appear to be opened yet or I'd try with the book.
