My family and I took a ride yesterday, we went in Hampton from 206. Noticed that Stokes heading towards the infamous FFS stuck area is marked with the same signs Ed posted pics of. Further down, the pit near the bridge has been re-posted as it has always been off limits. As we were driving toward Hampton Park, a White Ford Escape was coming at us at way over the suggested speed limit, he initially pulled over for a split second but pulled back out and kind of forced me to the right a bit, so I assigned him an adjective and moved on. As we passed the bogs on the right there was a vehicle closing in on my back bumper quickly, you guessed it, the Escape. I pulled over and he passed us in my estimate in excess of 40 mph. As we entered Hampton Park the Escape was parked at the ruins, the driver was out of the vehicle, when he spotted me he jumped in and took off down Glossy Spung very quickly??? Odd. We continued down Glossy Spung headed toward Carranza, we came upon a Jeep in one of the new what I call a "swail" the cuts the FFS made to drain the massive puddles. Anyway, they were in it up to the doors and another truck was in the woods attempting to get it out. As we reached Carranza, you guessed it, white Escape whizzing by. We drove to High Crossing and such, doubled back to Glossy Spung, by that time there were about 5 vehicles with the stuck crew, SPP included! We were motioned by the crew to turn around so we did. Took a ride to APH, back around and back down Glossy (about 2 hrs time) and they were all gone. Headed for home back out Hampton Road, came upon the pit I mentioned earlier to find the SPP and at least one Jeep stuck in the pit. So it appears the stepped up presence and promise of enforcement is alive!
