Those are two of my picks also. Die Hard 2 is another good winter storm movie. They filmed the exterior scenes under harsh conditions in Denver.

The interesting thing about the Shining is, almost nothing was really filmed in the snow. The topiary maze was done in the studio and the snow was rock salt. They said it was really unpleasant to work in there and all the cameras and equipment rusted. Great movie though!

Another 12-24" forecasted for us. We're in that little dark blue spot on the coast :jeffd: It's coming down gangbusters now.

My backyard in Browns Mills. Now I'm going to fill my stomach with scrapple and eggs and start shoveling

Tom, don't forget carbohydrates! Protein alone will slog you down.

My total is 21 inches. I don't see how Philly can claim 23.5 in the city and 12 to 19 all around them. Like Medford, the lake or bay effect? Maybe its just the drifting where its measured at the airport? This is dubious. James, get out your measuring stick.

Bob, Looks like we carb up the same way! Actually those carbs are for watching the snow fall in the evening, I hope the toast and the cornmeal in the scrapple are sufficent.

Turtle, To find my house while I'm cooking, just drive to Browns Mills and listen for my smoke detector! I like a nice crust on my scrapple.

All done playing with the snow now. I'm curious about the ranking of members! How long do I have to be a newbie? I'd rather be a Piney or a Scout. What's the progression go like. Do I have to post better pictures or something? Newbie sounds so unlike me. I want a promotion, please!

For the miserly fee of $49.95, I can put the word in for you :)

There already is a "King of the Pines" member on this site so you can never get that name :D

Anyway, you are only a few short posts away from no longer being a Newbie. And just so you know there are a few members who have visited this site every day from the beginning and are still a Newbie, so there is no shame in being one. At least one of them contributes to this site in other ways, and I for one appreciate all they have done.
