I have also posted old PB photos scattered around on various boards and threads. I didn't repeat those here.

Thanks! I forgot the name of the bridge and I didn't write it on the slide. I have some more old shots of that bridge too.

Pan,

The reservoir road at Simm Place is pretty much all dirt now. I believe that bridge in the distance in your photo has been removed. You can see the road in this photo from about two years ago.

Guy, your photo of Quaker Bridge was 3 1/2 years after mine. It looks exactly the same. What does it look like now?

Guy, the sand must be covering the old paving on that road, and I guess you just don't see the little bridge because of the angle of your photo. What is the second photo?

It is metal and you can see through the deck to the water below. One member here (ecampbell) says his horse hates going across it because they see the water below. I don't have a photo easily available but you can see that it is metal in the link of post #4 above. Look at the photo on the right.

Can you find Quaker Bridge on the Bing map? I tried but it led me to what must be a different Quaker Bridge Road in NJ.

Pan and Guy, these old photos are great! I could walk right into them. Look at the old barrier in Pan's photo of the memorial, I forgot about it, and how about those bell bottoms. I regret I did not take more pictures back then. Please keep them coming.
The new bridge at Quaker Bridge is animal unfriendly, it is open, has an unusual surface and makes allot of noise when horse shoes hit it. It is not kind to bare people feet either.

I found these photos of Quaker Bridge online. Is there more than one Quaker Bridge in NJ? What's the middle one?

Ed - Are those little wooden barriers gone now? And yeah, women's fashions in the 70's were nice - no tattoos, rings through noses...

This is the new barrier as of this morning. I can't remember when it was replaced but it was a long time ago, maybe the late 70's.

I take it you are not local.
