In your 1st post, 2nd video what is the bar running parallel to the driveshaft? It‘s not visible in the 3rd video that I can tell.

The third video is looking towards the back of the car. So the bar is behind the camera and maybe even along the sides of it where it can't be viewed.

I don't know. I will climb under the car tomorrow and examine it more and take photos.

But what is the bar? Is it bushing mounted, maybe possible cause?
It is not a bar. It is a rubber coated cable most likely for the all wheel drive or odometer. Not really sure. It is connected into the transmission in the front.

After replacing two of the 4 mounts the engine does not cause the car to shake as much but the vibration is still there. I suspect the right front CV joint is bent.

Bringing this old post back to life. In my first post I mentioned my car shakes and I still have not solved that issue. However, I may have discovered the problem. I noticed yesterday that when accelerating the shaking was increasing. And again today the same issue. This evening I jacked my car up spinning and pulling on each wheel and checking for issues there. While checking the last rear wheel I looked under the car while rotating the wheel and my rear differential was moving an inch or more each way. Closer inspection proved that the "rear differential mount" (rubber portion) is completely broke causing the differential to move when accelerating and slowing down. It is an easy fix so sometime in the heat this week I will replace it and see if that was my problem all along.

The new one to be put on my car.

What would be the purpose of rubber mounting a differential Guy? That seems crazy.
Both of my F-350's have straight iron axle tubes front and rear and are anchored to leaf springs. Any drivetrain movement is managed by greaseable u-joints on the driveshafts.

Hopefully the new mounts fix the issue for you.

I drove it today to the woods and I can actually feel it moving up and down causing shaking. I had things to do and needed to get out there. I have nothing going on this week so I may wait until Friday when it is cooler to replace it. I will take video and photos if I remember.

To reduce driveline vibration. Leaf springs are rubber mounted (via bushings) where they bolt to the perch. It achieves the same thing just a different design.

I repaired my car today. Getting the bolts off were troublesome and I broke one of them. Luckily, it was one that bolted into the old mount so I had to go to the auto store and purchase a bolt. From start to cleanup it took me almost 2 hours which is much longer than I expected and hoped. Not unusual for me. Anyway, I will see if the car still shakes when I head to the woods on the weekend.

I hope your problem is solved Guy! It's good to see people still working on their own stuff.

As you know, I'm facing rotator cuff surgery in about three weeks. So, I just bought all the stuff I need for an oil change in my '97 F-350, a diesel fuel filter change on my '02 F-350 and an oil change on my Harley. Then I can sit back in peace knowing that I don't have to do any maintenance work during my lengthy recovery.

My biggest problem is that both of my trucks are manuals and I wont be able to drive either one for about 8 weeks or maybe more.:(

Scott, you can drive my automatic 4 runner if you want, but I'd need one of your trucks to get around Cape May. I only park roadside.

Your planning is the same as mine except I get everything done by the late fall to make it through the winter. Jessica and I have spent way too many times on the ground under my car in the dead of winter.

Thank you Bob, that is a very generous offer. We should be okay though. Dottie can use either of my trucks since she can drive a stick.
She doesn't like the size of the white truck and doesn't like driving a stick but she does fine with it.. I am hoping this should only last 6-8 weeks tops and then the sling comes off.

My Ford Focus shakes too. It is what they do. I have changed the engine and transmission mounts a couple times now.

Maybe the rubber is worn out from this piece? I can't see what it is but all that freespace seems odd.
