THE OLD PINEY HERE AGAIN,GANG.................IN JACK CERVETTOS BOOK HE MENTIONS A CEDAR BRIDGE HOTEL SOMEWHERE ALONG THE OLD BAY ROAD,RTE 554.............SOME OLD MAPS INDICATE IT WAS SOMEWHERE WEST OF THE JCT OF 72 AND WEST BAY AVE , ...........I DO NOTE THAT THE CEDAR BRIDGE ROAD COMES OUT OF THE WOODS THERE,AND PRESUME THATS THE SPOT............THE OLD CEDAR BRIDGE ROAD WAS ONCE A MAIN ROUTE FROM WEST JERSEY TO THE SHORE..................APPARENTLY IT RAN EAST TO 72 AND THEN BEYOND,AND EVENTUALLY CROSSED RTE 9...........AND WENT ON TO THE BAY.................THE PART BETWEEN 72 AND 9 IS NOW A HOUSING DEVELOPMENT,BUT IT BEGINS AGAIN JUST WEST OF 9 , IN MANAHAWKIN WHRE IT IS STILL CALLED CEDAR BRIDGE ROAD..............IN DRIVING DOWN TO LUCILLES IN WARREN GROVE, I ALWAYS SEE THE OLD CEDAR BRIDGE ROAD ,OR TRAIL GOING EAST FROM THERE...............THAT AND THE PANCOASTAL HIGHWAY WERE IMPORTANT ROUTES IN THE OLD DAYS..........HECK, I REMEMBER ICE WAGONS AND HORSES WHEN I WAS A BOY............PRESS ON GUYS.........KARL
