I knew I had seen it before but couldn't place it for anything.Been too long since i canoed the Wading.

Does anyone know how this boat came to rest at this location? I've been paddling by it for a very long time and have been asked that question myself more than once. I remember when it was in much better shape and certainly didn't look like anything one would navigate that river in. It seemed to be an old lifeboat from a larger ship.

An update. I was there on the 24th, and the water level is the lowest it's been in many years. Maybe the beaver are gone. I hope so, because as you can see by the photos below, they killed a lot of good cedar.View attachment 7365 View attachment 7366 View attachment 7367

Update: I was there the last two weekends and the water level is high. If the plants are to grow this spring at the Boardwalk there needs to be some serious removal at the dam. Someone has been keeping it open but it needs to be cleared under the water some more. I would do it but Jessica is all for the beavers so I don't stop anymore.
