I made it home and only had to pass two cars, both doing about ten mph.I did 35 to 40 with four wheel.got behind a snow plow for a few miles which was nice but once he pulled over it was on! Past him roads hadn't been touched. Not too slick but snow piling up under the front wheels would throw me a little if I tried to creep over 40.The invisible new rumble strip up the middle let me know when I was headed out of my lane.I may have seen six vehicles total in the 13 mile drive home.

From the radar, looks like it is finally moving north and east of me... I hope. ;) Just some flurries here now.

GSP is closed in Monmouth county near the arts center, both directions. I have fond memories of travelling that road during snow storms

Yeah, it's a little hard to tell but they seem to be curving more to the East and missing me. Then again, this is what the NWS says, so we shall see. Certainly haven't seen anything approaching 2 to 3 inches of snow per hour here (yet). Either way, it's supposed to wind down over the next few hours.

As of 1140 AM, moderate to heavy snow continues across much of New
Jersey. A particularly intense band of snow was located from
eastern Monmouth County southward across Ocean County then into
coastal Atlantic County. This band should pivot a bit more to the
west and southwest through early this afternoon. Snowfall rates
within this band are expected to be 2 to 3 inches per hour.

BTW, whoever named the weather radar sites around here had an interesting sense of humor.... BOX, KOKX, DIX and DOX. :D

Well you know it must be bad down here because I fueled up the snow blower and spent two hours clearing the driveway. ;) Started right up on the first crank after two years in storage and worked like a champ. I really didn't plan to do it, but this snow is just really dense and slippery. Had a problem getting any traction maneuvering the car out of my parking spot, I was surprised. Cleared out the whole area by the house and two 800 foot tracks to the road. Was too dark to see much by the time I finished.

Snow depth ranges from 8 to about 12 inches. Was happy to see the snow plow cleared a nice big area at the end of the driveway, instead of making a big wall of snow like they sometimes do. Fingers and toes are finally starting to thaw out now. :)

Note: I am just showing the South Jersey totals and couldn't get it to format nicely. See the original NWS release here:

The wind is really cranking here. Went out to leaf blower the leftovers off the back deck and its howling, had to put a pair of heavy of gloves on. Sitting here it sounds like a train going past outside. A night not fit for man nor beast.

Same here. Earlier this evening it was quite severe for a few minutes here but it has settled somewhat.

According to 46er's NWS chart I got 16". Bayville is part of Berkeley twp but is considered from the beach on the ocean to about R 9. Berkeley twp is mostly West of rt 9 to the police station near the intersection of Dover Rd & Pinewald / Keswick Rd. I'd like to know where exactly the reporting observations are located.
